UCSportsFan
I was wondering if the boys team was going to forfeit like the girls team did or will they make the trip up to Clay County tomorrow night? Would love to hear from someone from this school on this subject.
FutureCOY
While I do not have any information on the subject. My opinion is they won’t forfeit. On the girls side I believe they were only going to have 5 girls was the reason. They have more boys on the team so if they do forfeit it will have to be for a different reason. As far as hearing from someone from the school good luck with that. They are small and I doubt anyone follows the boards. It’s not good to show our young people you should quit just because you may lose. Hopefully Hardy Memorial players and fans have a safe trip up and home. I believe that I'd show up with three and beg for the refs to allow my team to play, if for no other reason than to teach my kids that you fight for what you want, no matter the odds. We (as a society) have become weak minded... the harder it was to have something in my grandparents generation, the more it was valued and enjoyed when earned. These days, if something is a bother to get, someone will give it to you if you whine about it (socialists) loud enough.

Do your students go to a private school? Misinformation about politics has no place on here. Edited March 1, 2020 by bobcatfan300
Talisman
Is it possible that this was a financial decision? Small school, limited budget, expensive trip, little likelihood of success.

UCSportsFan
I want to commend the young men from Hardy Memorial. They played hard all night. There was no quit in them even though they were outmanned at every position. I was definitely impressed! Having said that Clay County was just too strong tonight. Speaking of strong, Grant Strong is now the best player in District 6A and should be a Mr Basketball finalist for next year. He still has improving to do but the young man can flat out play. Indian
You can’t ever tell who will be playing for Hardy from year to year. Sometimes week to week. It’s a very small public school in South Pittsburg, in its own school system. Last year they had 2 new players in from Canada at the start of the season, both about 6’7” and they played Howard to 95-93. Somehow they weren’t able to continue at Hardy and things dropped off badly. A couple of weeks after that Howard beat them something like 110-30. Southtowner
I'm glad Hardy showed up and played hard. They did the same against us as well. They're just a small school and undermanned as usual like someone stated above. We were beaten tonight as well by a solid Monterey team. Good luck to the region 3 teams that are moving on after tonight. I haven't seen a Gordonsville/Whitwell score but I'm fairly certain our district boys all got swept tonight. Same as our district girls the night before. So good luck Distict 6/Region 3.

Are you allowed to start a game with only 3 players? Edited March 1, 2020 by Southtowner

No, you're not. That's why I said for no other reason... BTW, I've noticed that SP has done pretty well this roundball season... footballers participating?
