MAHS at Union City

UC had zero points from the post ... Got doubled up rebounding ... No answer for their size ... MAHS held a double digit lead most of the game ... Oh and zero points from the bench ... UC was 2 of 3 from the line and the Lions were something like 13 for 18 but most all that was when UC had to foul in the 4th quarter ... McMillan had 19 for the Tornadoes and I believe only he, Bobo and Theobold scored ... Paraphrasing Sisco, happy with the defense giving up 40 but you're not going to win many scoring just 28 ...

No thats not true. If they slow the game down, Dixon will not be able to get the ball as much. He will have fewer time to work with than normal. Same with Madison Academic! They scored all points in transition and UC slowed it down and won.

I told you what would happen!

Union City lost that ball game bc they had no post game and didn’t get their bigs involved at all. All MAHS had to do was throw everything at UC’s guards b/c they knew there would be no post play to defend. They also lost the rebound battle, giving up several points off rebounds. Great Season Union City and Good Luck to MAHS in the ‘boro!

How does Dixon match up against Clay County in the post. Atchlock is 6’4 thick and strong senior.  He took over the game against Eagleville in the paint.

Atchlock will get the best of Dixon but he won’t take this game over by any stretch. This game will be won by Clay Co guards though. Union City’s point guard played terrible and that was a huge factor. For a stretch they couldn’t throw him the ball because he was going to turn it over. MAHS point guard wasn’t great offensively but solid defensively. UC also jacked up some silly treys playing 1 on 1. This won’t happen with Clay  Co. so I predict a rather easy 1st round victory for CC.

8-12 points and holding a lead pretty much the entire 2nd half.

    • Im pretty excited about the new rules that NFHS voted to adopt. Does anyone know if this will take place in Tennessee starting this year? I think I heard/read somewhere that the TSSAA bi-laws say the have to mirror what the NFHS does, and when the NFHS offered the current weight classes as options, TSSAA didn’t adopt them until NFHS made them official. Did NFHS make these changes official starting next season or will it be similar to the weight classes where TSSAA doesn’t change what they are doing until it is  an officially official part of the NFHS rule book? It’ll be interesting to see if it is rolled out for the new TSSAA Middle School season and I saw a post where the youth wrestling in TN was going to vote on adopting it as well.  I’ll pray for all the youth coaches that will have to shoulder the confusion from all those crazy #### parents who already think they know the rules more than everyone else  . Imagine the first time their kid is taken down and a 3 goes up on the scoreboard or their kid gets pinned with only one point of contact in the cylinder. Their heads might explode. i kid, I kid. Sort of. I’m surprised ride time was brought down with all the other changes. I know some argue that it promotes stalling on top, but its been an official scoring method in college forever, so I figure it must be doing something right. Do any of you think that’ll ever be implemented?
    • Crazy how the thread just gets deleted when facts come out.
    • I understand I guess it depends on the school you are with and the time you want to put in.  It’s evident of the schools that don’t put in as much times.  I would say basketball players put in as much time as any sport in our school system and this is coming from a football town.  Bball is a longer season than other sports.
