My guess is if Powell gave them a tuff time with the pass they worked on it all week. Hes very talented but still a developing sophomore and hit a 20 yard pass in the endzone in a high pressure situation with 20 seconds on the clock. Keep an eye on Damron through his senior year.  Hes a special QB + His senior year lines up with the undefeated inman Bulldogs who are all sophomores right now. We have some real talent coming up. That beech game is on the rear view mirror now. DC is in the crosshairs and kicking the Hornets nest. DC doesn't lean anything about tuff football beating up on crocket and onion county. But they haven't learned yet. It looks like they never will.

Good deal.  Ya Powell QB is a Sophomore to, threw for 288 and 2 TD vs Beech.  Drove Powell 80 yards down the field with 1:17 with NO timeouts, and threw a 30 yard game winning TD with 5 seconds left in game.  Is HC more of a running team like most mid state teams?  Cause HC QB can sling it.  Sounds like HC needs to throw more often.  IMO

Does anyone else think that some of the guys like Norman Duncan should be running the wildcat or read option? He is explosive as a runner. Also would like to see Z get a few more carries.

Z has big time talent, in my opinion. He’s runs through and away from people. The next few years for HC should be fun.

Yeah I would personally like to see him get a few more touches. I think he can wow people. As far as the guy above yes Henry County is more of a run team and I agree we should sling it down the field a little more.

We've always been a running team. With ryan we will develop the ability to do both really well. But this team is smaller than usual our 2 biggest players are sophomores and we have a gifted running back #24 who's a sophomore. Not sure how far we will get but these guys will be ok. Also it was only a 1 score loss. Keeping beech to 21 and sounds like a pretty good game. They had us out sized in pretty much every way. Not to take anything away from beech 2 of there TDs were break away plays for a long rushing TDs  where  we just weren't covering were we needed to be. Otherwise we were pretty well matched and I think we will be ok in the region.  That's the main thing keeping our eyes on that. I think we can beat DC and if we  do that we should definitely win the region.

No lie bud me and my son were just talking. He didn't make the game he has to work now. But I was telling him Z didn't even have very many carries and I think we definitely should.  Jamarcus is really good but our line isnt really that big this year for making that nice hole to run up the middle. Hes more of a wrecking ball.. I would like to see more plays with Z running hard to the outside with a propper block or 2 Z can make some yardage. Z and ND were just crazy awsome at inman. ND is smaller and quick and illusive.. we need to not be afraid to use what weapons we have. I would like to see Dree beaver at one tackle and Luke Brown at the other. We need some size up front Drew did good at the Lexington scrimmage. Those 2 are going to be a big pair of tackles eventually. Maybe he'll see some play time if we can run the score up on some teams.

Here is a small highlight of what I made from a scrimmage earlier.

Wow! I was at that scrimmage.. watching that gave me goose bumps man. I hate to see a talent like that waste away doing something besides carrying the rock. If I remember correctly coach Counce had a small issue playing a running back as small as Jalyn Foster. Beside the hamstring issue he had last year he worked out VERY well for HC. I like having different running backs that have different styles.. I hope coach is aware of what he has in Norman Duncan.

Yeah he is a weapon. Got some really good freshman too. Norman is special. He was in either one or two plays last year against West Creek and scored immediately

I'm looking to get 3 tickets.  I wonder how they will do away tickets. I hope DC plans to sell enough. This is a must see game.

I would call HCHS tomorrow morning. Im sure Dyer County is sending an allotment of tickets to HC not sure how many though. I know in our first game Crockett sent us around 200 tickets. I have heard another school in West Tennessee that sent the visiting school around 60 tickets so who knows...

    • The only two transfers that Bearden has gotten that went on to play college football were a defensive back from Karnes, who transferred here way before the new coaching staff got here, and a running back from Carter, who went on to play at Maryville College. Both players received those offers while at Bearden, and both players got a diploma from Bearden High School. Therefore, they are Bearden kids, and you can’t do anything about that.   The transfer from Seymour didn’t win the job, what do you expect two quarterbacks to start at the same time? He played great on JV when he could stay healthy, and when he came in on varsity, he did great. The quarterback position is definitely going to be in good hands when the current starting quarterback leaves, but until then, they’re just going to be battling it out like every good quarterback competition does. The current starting quarterback has his flaws, and that is in the pass game, but what he doesn’t have flaws is running and scrambling, and if you go back and watch any game, which I’m sure you didn’t watch any, we used him very often, and when we needed a deep ball, we brought in the transfer from Seymour. The starting quarterback last year will be a senior this year, and the Seymour transfer will be a junior, so the Seymour transfer is definitely going to get his spotlight. He may even win the job this year. Football isn’t about who the newspaper thinks is the best kid. The best kid in the position will win the starting job, and I trust the coaching staff more than a newspaper or article to pick my starting QB.
    • I mean, we’ve only gotten two transfers that went on to play college football, one who went to UT Martin came his second semester junior year before the new coaching staff was here, and the other one went on to play at Maryville College, in which I don’t believe he had any interest prior to transferring.
    • An FYI: To see how an opponent has done against another opponent since 2001- go to the game by clicking on one of the teams. Click the G beside the game. For example, Milan: The info will show you the previous matchups and other info.
    • All these college signees went yo other schools for 3 years, were getting college offers then transferred to Bearden. It’s not like this staff did much to develop them.    The BBall coaches son and the Seymour transfer were some of the most talented QBs in the region, and you guys developed them into QBs who might complete one pass a game.
    • No my fight, but ... if they were already college-caliber prior to transferring to BHS, and they already had FBS interest, and they end up at an FBS school, how did Bearden do anything for them?
