Sorry....can't go with that based on all the smack the GB faithful have talked the last few years. I think the discussion was how bad GB would beat up on a larger school named William Blount?

I've no part in the smack talk. Just know normally a 5A would put it on a normal 1A school. I believe this may be a normal year.

Considering this isn't a normal year for Greenback we're over 50% freshman. On a normal Year I'll take Greenback at least 75% of the time over William Blount.Kind of hard to come in here talking that talk when this team is playing 8 freshman every Friday night. And you can say I don't think so,i don't think so,I don't think so all you want but until they line it up and play us they have nothing to say nor do you. Also if you do your homework it's usually somebody else talkin about us playing and being able to beat William Blount we just agree with them.Your boys team is always very good and they benefit from the same things we do at Greenback.

Old Pirate says playing the young is a two edged sword. Youth gets you beat but develops experience. It is hard to develop youth on a 69 player roster and  with the Mercy Rule in effect it is rarely effective. OP is critic of no JV schedules with large roster teams. That to poses problems with finding teams with enough to field a jv team.

Sorry...no reason to bring "my boy" into the conversation. That has nothing to do with anything I was commenting on. Perhaps you are assuming some intent for my post? Rest assured that there was no intent outside of what was said.

Btw....WB will never play 1A Greenback so the game will remain in the IFL.

Being five A last year didn’t seem to be a deterrent for Greenback. They won big. Now this year being five A   All of sudden gives LC. all the advantage.
This is why big schools playing small schools is always a lose—lose for the big school

I dont care how big they are.We are young yes but we will give it all we got.LC wasnt good last year and arent this year but they "should" be able to beat us this year.We did replace almost the whole team.We also lost our 2 HUGE linemen during THIS season but our young kids play very hard.Being 5A should ALWAYS give them the advantage but the 1300 hundred kids dont all play ball, but they should be able to field 11 with more experience than we have this year.

    • also was told coady auston applied, he served as defensive coordinator for greenfield under don pitt several years ago before going to Obion county
    • TSSAA restrictions for hiring non-faculty coaches have been removed for over a year at this point. In the past a non-faculty person had to be "grandfathered" by being an assistant coach for five years, being fingerprinted, and having a background check run per TSSAA rules... since those were rescinded, the board of directors for the school district are responsible for any/all restrictions on hiring non-faculty personnel. I guess what I'm saying to you is that if you really wanted what you posted, it's already possible as long as your local BOE will allow for it.
    • stop it, rlh. you’re gonna get me all misty eyed and sentimental.    i see seven fairly regularly. ….but slim shady, that’s like spotting bigfoot on main street. you just hope he doesn’t spot you.
