Week 6- Green Hill vs Father Ryan

Lets hear it. Father Ryan has 15 players sitting in a protest for social injustice. They may have chosen the wrong game to do it. Green Hill is coming off a very lively second half against a very quality Smyrna team. The Hawks are also gaining 9 kids that were ineligible up until this point, 3 of which are 3 star sophomores. I like Mother Mary being ashamed after this one. Hawks 28-17 to move to 4-4 on the year. Thoughts?

It does not count on over all record

When a team is not playoff eligible, a first year program, and fighting on the front line of Covid, they absolutely count. How dare you take those victories away from those kids. They busted their rear all summer to prepare for a season, then have teams back out and forfeit? Gallatin would count those as wins just as well. Shame on you.

Why Would you teach them to hold onto games they didn't even play in as victories? Maybe be proud of the fact you scored on a tuff Smyrna Team, that your starting to get it together... Not fake wins.

I'm not sure sure who your team is, but as a Hawk fan, if we score 100 and get beat, we are not pleased. Scoring and yards and all those "moral" victories and "Butch Jones" type lessons. We count Ws and only Ws. Period. I'm glad my kids are grown and not playing for these coaches in today's times where they highlight "big plays" and "points" instead of Ws.

Sorry, they do not count.  Kids prepare all summer on every team.   Gallatin absolutely cannot count an forfeit win on the overall record only on region record.    Shame on you for not knowing the reality of the situation.

I think you got some incorrect information.  There will be 50+  kids on the sideline with no freshmen.

    • “facts” or better yet ‘opinions’ had been up for weeks/months. that’s not why the thread was deleted. get over yourself.
    • Im pretty excited about the new rules that NFHS voted to adopt. Does anyone know if this will take place in Tennessee starting this year? I think I heard/read somewhere that the TSSAA bi-laws say the have to mirror what the NFHS does, and when the NFHS offered the current weight classes as options, TSSAA didn’t adopt them until NFHS made them official. Did NFHS make these changes official starting next season or will it be similar to the weight classes where TSSAA doesn’t change what they are doing until it is  an officially official part of the NFHS rule book? It’ll be interesting to see if it is rolled out for the new TSSAA Middle School season and I saw a post where the youth wrestling in TN was going to vote on adopting it as well.  I’ll pray for all the youth coaches that will have to shoulder the confusion from all those crazy #### parents who already think they know the rules more than everyone else  . Imagine the first time their kid is taken down and a 3 goes up on the scoreboard or their kid gets pinned with only one point of contact in the cylinder. Their heads might explode. i kid, I kid. Sort of. I’m surprised ride time was brought down with all the other changes. I know some argue that it promotes stalling on top, but its been an official scoring method in college forever, so I figure it must be doing something right. Do any of you think that’ll ever be implemented?
    • Crazy how the thread just gets deleted when facts come out.
    • I understand I guess it depends on the school you are with and the time you want to put in.  It’s evident of the schools that don’t put in as much times.  I would say basketball players put in as much time as any sport in our school system and this is coming from a football town.  Bball is a longer season than other sports.
    • 7 Pages of complaining because the lacrosse team put removable lines on the field so that they could practice/play lacrosse  Y'all boys are bored huh lol
