I remember a middle school game a few years ago. Jefferson lost and my former #10 and his running mate #54 cried, cussed, spit, and hated life. The rest went and got ice cream. Give me a few warriors that despise losing.

Agreed on that. I guess it is a cultural thing but I still believe that coaches have the ability to address it.

SS, not meaning to go against you here, but I doubt you see it on those mentioned teams sidelines without someone doing some extra conditioning on Monday. It's one thig to celebrate after a big play, another to have no idea what's going on out on the field. Sideline heads should be in the game. You don't know when you'll be needed and need to know what's going on.  And yes, the kid on the sideline is a benefit to everyone if he has to go into the game in a tight situation. It's a learning experience, watching the guy playing in front of you. Teams that contend have coaches that want their kid's heads in the game at all times. If not, the kids need to be in the stands with the other students. This coming from a former GA high school football coach who is now retired and part of the old fart club. You want kids to enjoy sports, they just need to know when to be serious about it. Again, not calling you out, love your posts!

Some good points. I reckon I just don’t pay enough attention to what is going on on the sidelines to really care, but I understand where y’all are coming from. It’s just nothing has really stood out to me, but I guess that goes back to me not really ever paying attention. What I see is just kids being kids, nothing more or less. I appreciate the kind words, 82.

Sad truth is nothing will get better until the coaching staff is rectified starting at the top and at every side of the Offense. The DB coach is probably the worst I’ve seen in 30 years of watching the Cats. 
My 2 cents for what it’s worth: watching kids that are dressed out playing grab #### when the team is getting blown out is absolutely appalling. Every blowout loss this year you see dressed out kids jumping and playing grab #### on the sidelines; big smiles, just having them a real ball. That’s unacceptable and the fact that the coaches allow that tells me they lack focus. 
Whippin a very bad team like Karns means absolutely nothing. In fact, I overheard someone last night saying that the 3 teams OR beat this season has a single win among them. Pathetic. Nothing to celebrate here. 
The coaches need a whippin. They lack focus and allow these kids to play grab ####. 
I guarantee you all these kids get participation ribbons after every game. Horrible. 

From the glass half full viewpoint, the three teams OR has lost to have a combined 2 total losses (Farragut to Maryville and West).

As far as the kids on the sideline are concerned, I would bet you that those who think they may actually get in the game are paying attention. I'm sure there are a few "foolish" kids on any team (OR included) who don't know how to act at home, at school, or on a football sideline. I, for one, have no idea what's going on with players on the sideline, because I'm watching the game. I doubt the coaches are watching what's going on behind them, and if they are, they should be fired immediately. I do know that Gaddis got their attention for the few that did too much talking during the clinic game, and I assume if he knew about sideline antics that were terrible, he would address that too, but I'm not sure how he or any of the coaches find that out, unless they read coacht. I've missed very few games in the last many, many years, and I've never noticed it to be a problem, but I admit to watching the game only, not the sidelines. I liked what OR nole said about the kids who spit, cussed, cried, and hated life after a loss but unfortunately, most don't seem to care that much anymore or they're too cool to ever show it, and would rather be the "ice cream eaters"! I hope OR gets ready for the last three games because I expect they will all be tough.

I agree with a lot of what u said but we have more than enuff skill guys to have a good offense.I think we have 2 D1 players on offense but at worse we have really good high school skill guys.13 and 2 should be taking top off defenses.6 and 22 are weapons you can use in all kinds of ways.You have 2 RBs that are as good or better than almost every team we will play this yr.For some reason this OC changes things up way to much.Im not counting the Clinton game because I know we wanted to work on run game.But look how we called plays vs Farragut and then nothing like it the next week vs West.I dont want to ramble but things like 14 running RPOs and never reads and keeps it anymore.Ive seen times where he couldve walked in endzone if he keeps it.If your line is stuggling then why run these type of plays that puts defense in his face b4 he can even look up.Main thing is if it dont work vs good teams than maybe quit doing it over and over.

I'm sorry brother I just figured this cite out. I remember yours and my boy they're freshmen year playing every week and us sitting together. My boy quit so I moved away from the football. I always brought the cracker jacks and you brought the charleston chews! It was good times and you were super excited about oak ridge football!
