Mr. Football Candidates!

TSSAA sent out ballot requests to media yesterday.   I always rely heavily on you guys to give us names of kids we may not of seen in person this year.   I assure you, every name you provide (with stats to back it up) will be considered by me and Lee.   I take this seriously because I want to do my part to make sure the most deserving kids get on the ballot.   

Just drop a name, number if you know it and stats.   It greatly helps to have the players number when casting these ballots.

I think Lexington has two legitimate candidates:

 

• Kicker: Connor Wood - 33/34 XPs, 6/8 FGs long of 53 yds.  40/46 KO for touchbacks. (67 yd avg with 4.0g sec hangtime avg).  Set his his school record longest FG and 5th all time in TSSAA in career FGs made.

 

• RB: Isaiah McClaine - 1430 yds and 13 TDs.  178.75 yds per game, 9.2 yds per carry. Only a Sophomore

Someone just put Connor Wood's highlight tape in front of me yesterday. That kid has a monster leg! Big weapon over there in Lexington!

I agree with Connor Wood. Someone posted a video of him kicking a 52 yd field goal on the Hardin Co. vs Lexington thread from last week. The kick looked like it went on top of the school. Would have been good from 65. Ridiculous.

I definitely think both Lexington Kids are deserving of a look. McClaine runs like Derrick Henry and could easily get 2000 yards this year if they wanted him to with the next two games. Wood’s kicks have been bombs all year.

Region 7 4A has some good running backs Coreterrion Moore, Ripley and Isreal Barbee, Dyersburg. I am not sure of their stats but these are as good of running backs as you will find and have had good careers. Jaylen Lewis of Haywood has been impressive as well in the defensive secondary.

Actually Jackets have played 7 games and Hudson didn’t play much QB in MC game.
