Humboldt coach

I work at Humboldt and the worst part about all of this is how the people feel about it. It is literally 50/50 for what happened and against what happened. Not sure how this will shake out. If it wasn’t a split like it is I think it would be a better situation, but it’s not. A lot of colleagues I worked with left because of the change.

Edit: I’m not meaning their feelings about the lawsuit or the hire as being the worst part what I am meaning is the division that it has caused.

That’s a shame too. Wish nothing but the best for that school and community.

Well are they now hiring only black educators over white? Curious how all of this is playing out now that it was brought to light? I feel like it would only strengthen the case against Humboldt if they are

Well I hope everything works out over there, Humboldt needs to hire whoever is best for their community and schools no matter if they are black, white, or whatever. Since you are a part of the school system there any coaching names you have heard that applied or interviewed or anything?

I have heard two maybe have applied, also may use a in house coach. So a total of three are going for the job.

But that is just rumors in the building I work in. Idk any names either lol.

Does Humboldt have a high percentage of blacks, or is it one (or more) black school board member(s) pushing this "black over white" thing?  A policy like that shortchanges the students and it's a recipe for failure.

A "policy like that" is illegal... jobs must be posted, and no uncertified person may be hired if a person who is certified in a particular subject pertaining to the job has applied. Unless the poster chose his words poorly, the Director of Schools was instructed to FIRE certified personnel in order to hire uncertified of a specified race... unbelievable.

Correct, the hire must have a teaching license and be certified or in the process of getting certified in the subject to even be considered for these jobs. Humboldt does have a higher percentage of black students if I recall correctly its close to 60% black/African American?  Again this whole situation is messed up when looking in on it, and this board member still has a job on the board?!

I think it's the times we live in. "Some" blacks take advantage of the system, and will quickly call people racist if they disagree with them. Too much political correctness in society today, with people catering to ridiculous ideas and demands, just to appear not being racist. Having socialist, Marxist groups in society catering to weak-minded people who feel entitled, adds fuel to the fire.
As I mentioned earlier, the citizens elected this school board member and unless they see the errors of her way they'll re-elect her.... especially if she convinces the voters in her school district that there aren't enough black teachers and she's the one who will bring their idea of social justice.
I certainly hope the other rational school board members aren't in her corner.  Hopefully the laws in place about hiring teachers will prevail.

Oh wow, I guess that makes sense, still shouldn't effect who is teaching them. I feel like they can learn just as well from any race of teacher. As long as said teacher is qualified to do so, if they started hiring non qualified staff members it would open the door for them to only hire "Friends and Family" members  opening themselves for more law suits.

Board is elected and cannot be fired, but can be censured (essentially the same thing) by the remainder of the members. What the board needs to be fearful of (as a whole, not individuals), is carrying through with firing a certified employee and replacing them on a waiver (hiring uncertified)... with the amount of documented premeditation, any lawsuit filed would be a slam dunk.
