Franklin vs. Brentwood

One of the oldest rivalries in the state of Tennessee meet in the Quarterfinals of an extremely tough quadrant. What are we thinking here?

Winner of this game gets the pleasure of getting throttled in the state game.

Also don’t think it’s one of the oldest rivalry’s in the state (county for sure) considering Brentwood has only been around since the 80s.

Well they will get a Silver Ball for the trophy case, but yes the 6A game this year will be a mercy rule game for either Maryville or Oakland

I agree.

It amazes me how predictable the playoffs have always been in Tennessee. In Georgia it is the complete opposite.

Another big difference between the two states, in Georgia you open the playoffs against a different region every year. North Georgia regions (5-8) face another north region in the first round. In the 2nd round a north team may have to travel all the way to the Florida state line. In the old days, it was north vs. south in the state finals. That ended around 1990.
