EHS would have waxed DB this year as well as the past 2 years and probably next year as well. I'm not sure why he wants his big DB to be embarrassed by a 3a school. Once he beats Science Hill then he can talk until then EHS sits on a nice 4 game winning streak against the Hill with a new piece of hardware for the case compliments of Science hill

Thoughts on Rhea County?

We lost a couple key guys on offense last year.  Leading receiver and a 1000 yd rusher. Lost really only a couple guys on defense off of last years team.

This years team we returned quite a bit but a lot of our guys are still sophomores and even more freshmen playing this year. We had a few injuries coming out of Alcoa so I’m not real sure what our lineup is going to look like Friday. Really we don’t need anymore injuries Friday with the first region game against McMinn coming up the following Friday. Playing Alcoa definitely showed us what we need to work on and we need more depth to compete with teams on that level. I will give Coach Pemberton he is really good at reviewing the film and making the needed adjustments.

I will say we looked good throwing the ball when we did throw it. Need to find more depth at running back. The O-line needs to have a better showing this week. Defense wise we need to work on run defense. Pass defense was pretty good. Special teams need a lot of work. A lot of the short fields Alcoa got were off of special teams errors.

Looking forward to coming to Elizabethton Friday. I’ve been past that stadium many times having worked for ETSU and the Nave center. Here is to a competitive and injury free game for both teams

Looking forward to it as well.  Also hope to make the trip to rhea next season.  Safe travels and hoping for injury free for both squads.
