Said be end next week - I got few names but I’m not on the inside so be just guess

I haven’t heard any different names than have already been discussed on here: Jeremy Jean, Jordyn Hartsfield, Krystal Edney.
I expect it to be Jean, but I could certainly be wrong.

None of the hires that JMCSS has made will effect South Side's dominance. However, it'll be stability and neither of these teams (JCM and North Side girls) will not be terrible in 2025. I'm not saying that these teams will head to Murfreesboro, but they will not be a team where it's a guarantee win anytime you play them.

Seems like there is a possibility that coach shutes, coach Starks and coach Northcutt all being public school will have some impact on the talent and where kids play. At least another public school option with great coaches for parent to send their kids to play under. Coach McNeal is established and a greaT coach too. Options just increased for sure. You gotta think over time this will impact South Side dominance

I've heard she has been back and forth some. Im sure shes gotta get everything moved. Not like Summertown is real close.

From what I heard most of the team hadn’t been doing a lot other than maybe conditioning for about three months other than the one’s playing AAU. It is not like she is walking into Loretto, Gibson County or Westview. A culture change is needed. It will be interesting. I know they have had a limited roster in past with girls playing other sports, which is OK but you don’t want the prisoners in charge of the asylum either. She will have to find her some basketball players and roll. I do think she will do well but she is definitely not walking into the situation she did at Summertown in 2018. Apples and oranges.

Based on her reputation she will make them come in and work which is what those kids need. They will be pushed. SG wont ever be a place like the ones you mentioned where you have a nearly full team of girls that just play basketball. Other sports are too big there. You can be successful with multisport players. That might be new for her but if she gets them in the gym theyll get a lot better.

Coming from Summertown, she shouldn’t have any problem with multi-sport athletes. This past year’s Summertown team was all multi-sport athletes, several played three sports

Nothing wrong with multi-sport players for school sports. Travel softball has been a sport at South Gibson since it has been there. Basketball world needs to keep rolling regardless if some kids play other sports. Gibson County has five and four in rotation that plays softball and they play with whoever they have and they do it well. Basketball needs to keep rolling and the others will have to catch up or be left behind if you want to win a Gold Ball. I think she will do well but it won’t be easy.

    • RR, you might remember. Didn’t someone hide the kicking shoe that game? It seems I remember we had missed a kick the week before, and we needed all the points we could get. We thought we had a better chance going for two, so $?&@$ hid the shoe after the first miss that game. No one on our sideline looked for it very hard.
    • I will never forget the 1983 Heritage vs Maryville game. I remember driving home and listening to WGAP. Can't remember the announcers name. He asked Coach Story why he kept going for 2? Story told him " Why didn't you ask Renfro that last year"
    • TSSAA will let them all go to Mase.
    • Well nothing new, the Mustangs are really talented again this coming season!  They very well could go undefeated in regular season.  We shall see what happens in postseason.  I think the path to state title game is a little clearer than years past.  I think the Stangs are going to be really good and I think the traditional teams around in 2A are not going to be as strong.  It should be a fun season!
