I knew South Side would come on here and try to blame it on the officiating. The officiating did not decide the outcome of that game. South side had turnovers that cost them and couldn’t knock down shots when they needed them the most.

If you knew that then that says a lot! You remember this... official called a block on Jada & then switch it to #42! I know you ain’t see that! So did you not refs counting the 5 sec? It may seem small to you but you take 2 calls away, in a one possession game makes a world of difference! But you have you opinion I have mine

I knew because that’s all South Side fans complained about when leaving the game and their rude comments and flipping off of Westview fans as they left the gym! Classy

They called a reach on #42 before the charge taken by Jada was what the call was. It was never switched from Jada to 42. That would have only given Jada 3 fouls even if they did call it on her so wouldn’t have made a difference. It’s not 5 seconds if they aren’t close enough to them or if the offensive girl starts a drive to the basket. The time starts over. What about all the “charges” South Side took on Jada that were no calls? It has to be a block or a charge and they were clearly blocks (still moving feet) and all the fouls not called when the South Side defender rode Jada down the floor like she was on a horse? If it was bad officiating, then it was bad officiating both ways.

It was a tough fought game by both teams like everyone expected it to be but came down to Jada taking over the game and South Side not able to overcome it

I can’t even read the rest of that! He clearly called a blocking foul! So the rest of of your message isn’t credible

Haha! Believe what you want but the scoreboard tells the final story. Hoping these two make it to the glass house and have round 2 in the end!

I believe I don’t remember jumping up & motioned the block call! It was no reach in lol but yea they clearly won!

Classic game!!!! The top two teams in AA and it certainly lived up to all the hype. Aside from the officiating, which I won't discuss South Side had chances to win, but it all comes back to small details and that was the difference. Jada Harrison is a SEC player, point blank. Big time players step up in big game situations. Best of luck to both in sectionals and let's get a state championship rematch!!!

Lol he not even a SS fan @sportslover88 I am just saying

The refs missed some calls, but Jada Harrison taking over that second half and South Side struggling against the zone is what ultimately decided the game. The kid is big time!

South Side has a heck of a team, and I think they will go down to Covington and win. McNeal and Comer have done a great job with this team and have no doubt in my mind that they can compete for a gold ball this year. I'm hoping to see South Side in Murfreesboro!

@sportslover88 look a there! Another non SS fan talking about the refs

Okay so I will give it to you...let’s say it was a blocking call on Jada, what difference would it have made in the results of the game? It was still a foul called and South Side still went to the free throw line as a result of it

Neither of those are saying that the refs missed calls in South Sides favor. I agree completely that they missed calls but it was missed calls both ways

It was their refs! So let that sink in lol but we knew coming in that Westview assign “special refs” to big games! It was our fault for leaving it close at their house! I hope we see them on a neutral floor!

I can’t say it would have made a difference! The point is we don’t know. She could have changed her game up with 4 fouls. We don’t know, call whatever it is! It’s all good! Outside the refs it was a state atmosphere type of game

    • RR, you might remember. Didn’t someone hide the kicking shoe that game? It seems I remember we had missed a kick the week before, and we needed all the points we could get. We thought we had a better chance going for two, so $?&@$ hid the shoe after the first miss that game. No one on our sideline looked for it very hard.
    • I will never forget the 1983 Heritage vs Maryville game. I remember driving home and listening to WGAP. Can't remember the announcers name. He asked Coach Story why he kept going for 2? Story told him " Why didn't you ask Renfro that last year"
    • TSSAA will let them all go to Mase.
    • Well nothing new, the Mustangs are really talented again this coming season!  They very well could go undefeated in regular season.  We shall see what happens in postseason.  I think the path to state title game is a little clearer than years past.  I think the Stangs are going to be really good and I think the traditional teams around in 2A are not going to be as strong.  It should be a fun season!
