Why cant he get his teams to thr State tourny? I do know that he continues to play a weak schedule, and does run up the score on teams.

He is not a terrible coach, but I think it is fair to say that he does not out scheme our out coach anyone.

This is nothing personal. I like Coach Tucker. He has given everything to his hometown. He is a good guy. But Tellico will never make it to the State tourney as long as he is head coach. It hurts to say it, but it is the truth.

I met him once really good guy. He needs a playmaker. I watched some film on them. Got a lot of solid players. He is missing a playmaker.

You cannot play a cupcake schedule and hope to win a meaningful playoff game. He only plays teams he can beat year in and year out. That’s why none of the rest of us that keep up with high school girls basketball, truly believe TP is a threat. I know there are some good athletes in that area because I remember when Tellico Plains came to Jackson County I believe it was 2000 or 2001 and they rimmed out a three-pointer to beat us at the end of the game. Jackson County went on to win the AA state championship 4 years in a row so I know there’s some good players down there.

I think so but does it really matter at this point. If they couldn’t compete in A, there is really no chance with the teams in AA with the quality teams they will see night in and night out.

Talking to a friend from east tn haven't they lost some really good players the last few years. I think from what I've been told they have decent group. Meigs will be down. Chattanooga region is really weak. However with there cupcake schedule last few years how developed are there upperclassmen.

The new district

McMinn central. I think they will win the district and the region and probably make it to state.

Meigs. They will be down, but not has far has people think. They have some good young players that were good in middle school and they are all playing summer ball.

Tellico they have some talent but not what everyone thinks. But they will sill complete in the district and region.

Kingston. They could be the dark horse in the district, they played a lot of freshman last season  and competed. They should be better this year.

Sweetwater. Down

Loudon. The same

Early prediction

1. McMinn Central

2. Meigs

3. Kingston

4. Tellico

5. Sweetwater

6. Loudon

I think 2-4 is a coin toss.

    • Understand the young thing.  I was one of those.  Barely 17 when I graduated from high school and started college.  But redshirting for athletic purposes isn't doing them any favors, in my opinion.  Life isn't always going to be fair.

    • The Girls Basketball team I am a part of played for a gold ball this season. One of the biggest differences in the sports is that there is no field prep/maintenance in basketball.   Our baseball is successful and play 30 games in the regular season as well. All of the teams dedicate A LOT of time in preparing for their next opponent.
    • Im pretty excited about the new rules that NFHS voted to adopt. Does anyone know if this will take place in Tennessee starting this year? I think I heard/read somewhere that the TSSAA bi-laws say they have to mirror what the NFHS does, and when the NFHS offered the current weight classes as options, TSSAA didn’t adopt them until NFHS made them official. Did NFHS make these changes official starting next season or will it be similar to the weight classes where TSSAA doesn’t change what they are doing until it is  an officially official part of the NFHS rule book? It’ll be interesting to see if it is rolled out for the new TSSAA Middle School season and I saw a post where the youth wrestling in TN was going to vote on adopting it as well.  I’ll pray for all the youth coaches that will have to shoulder the confusion from all those crazy #### parents who already think they know the rules more than everyone else  . Imagine the first time their kid is taken down and a 3 goes up on the scoreboard or their kid gets pinned with only one point of contact in the cylinder. Their heads might explode. i kid, I kid. Sort of. I’m surprised ride time was brought down with all the other changes. I know some argue that it promotes stalling on top, but its been an official scoring method in college forever, so I figure it must be doing something right. Do any of you think that’ll ever be implemented?
