Friday night, it will be the Summertown Eagles taking on the Lawrence County Wildcats. Purple and gold vs the blue and white. 4A vs 2A.

How Summertown wins
Aniken Johnson, Colton Shaffer, and Javen Edmiston all have huge games. Play solid defense and not allow the gaping plays defensively. Explode on offense.

How Lawrence County wins
Dominate the lines, put pressure on Schaffer and force him into bad plays

Prediction
LC 13
Summertown 21

did anyone go to Rockvale and see Forrest?

Rockvale won 20-0 in the first half in the starter's session. Rockvale started with a 20 play 80 yard drive. They converted three 4th downs and scored on 4th and goal. Their line mauled our defensive line and linebackers in unbalanced sets. Safeties made tons of tackles. Forrest was stopped on 4th and 2 at midfield after picking up two first downs. Rockvale had a long run and the Forrest defense was assessed a 15 yard penalty for illegal chop block. Rockvale punched it in for 13-0 lead. Forrest went no where on drive #2. After a great punt Rockvale went play action and hit a 80 yd bomb for the 20-0 lead. Forrest drove to the 25 yard line and threw an interception in the endzone on a jump ball. Best drive of the night saw a couple nice catches and a long QB run. Lot of work to do but Forrest should be ready for 1A and 2A competition after tough scrimmages against bigger schools.

Not sure Richland is ready for 2A football with some of these cats. The way they got mauled, especially in the 2nd half against Cornersville has to be bothersome for the Raider folks. Im wondering if the lackluster performance is in any way related to the off the field stuff going on at the school right now. Definitely keeping an eye on that situation.

    • Sounds like a great opportunity has opened up for the football team.  With the head coach of the diamond rebels making it official and quitting this week, there should be some room for the gridiron guys to benefit. I assume the administration won’t continue paying six figures to two former coach that quit to continue teaching drivers Ed. Thats pretty good money that could be redirected toward the football program. Also, with the more recent policies of pushing kids to only play one sport, abolishing the baseball program altogether would help on Friday nights in the fall. There is some decent speed on that baseball team that should’ve been playing on Fridays IMO. I’m not sure if anybody would really miss that baseball program anyway with it being across town from the school. The liability of letting players actually use the facilities could also be mitigated with closing the program. That liability seems to be a really big issue for 825. Anyway, it seems like a great opportunity is available.
    • Yeah, I read about their spring blue/gray scrimmage after I typed that.   Sounds like a real mess over there.  I just hate that for 'em.  Haw
    • Maybe OR will be, but Farragut, nah, I don’t think anybody realizes how much of a bad situation that program is in currently. I’m sure they will build out of it, but the next 3 to 4 years are going to be a long climb up.
    • Thats one of the problems of having an 8-team region. A team could make it in any other region, but the numbers work against them in this one.
    • 1A: Brayden Baker - Eagleville Rylan Collins - Lookout Valley Luke Treece - Coalfield   2A: Carter Daniel - Loretto Gray Eubanks - Huntingdon Trevan Myers - Pigeon Forge   3A: Gabe Eddington - Montgomery Central Carson Parrott - Livingston Academy Jaxon Walker - Loudon   4A: Eli Evans - Farragut Andrew Hill - Central  Brady Scott - Sevier County   Division II-A: Wesley Alig - CAK Cooper Jones - Boyd Buchanan Gunner Skelton - Columbia Academy   Division II-AA Brock Beddingfield - CPA Dominic Monaco - Brentwood Academy Tomas Valincius - Baylor
