It’s bad for Cody that he was injured preparing for the nationals but it’s time for some of the other guys to step up and represent Tennessee. Cody and Cooper have carried the banner for long enough and it’s time for the other guys to show that Tennessee high school wrestling has really improved.

Cooper is in the ¾ and Hunter Mason is in ⅞. They will compete in the medal round tomorrow.

I thought with the boys that went that TN was going to do better this year but Fargo is just such a gauntlet with so many land mines. Plus, this year the injury bug really hurt us losing both Chittum and Cooper Hilton who would have both been 1 seeds.

Here how we have done the last few years…

In 2020, TN had 2 Fargo Placers.
In 2019, TN had 5 Fargo placers.
In 2018, TN had 5 Fargo placers.

    • Playing high school sports is a privilege not a right.  The college did not have to rescind the scholarship.  Scholarship offers are pulled all the time for a number of reasons. That was 100% their choice.  A coach can keep, cut, or dismiss any player that they want to without reason anytime they want.  Is that the right way to run a program?? I don't think that it is, but these are the facts of the matter. This case has absolutely 0% chance of going in the plaintiff's favor. Futhermore, I'd imagine that these administrators and the coach are a part of some teaching or coaching organization that will cover at least 1 million dollars each in legal fees. Obviously the kid and her family feel like there were "damages" thus the lawsuit.  Unfortunately, the law is not on their side in this case.
    • Maryville will recapture the loses from last year against West, Bradley and Farragut. The Bearden game will be the tough one but I look for the wheels to come off that ride somewhere down the road because of all the crap that goes on there. I know to many parents there and some of the things I've been told and some of the post a few of them have made on facebook. They all can't be liars.
    • If Heritage moves down and Alcoa moves up the best thing for Heritage is to do what William Blount did when theystopped playing Maryville or meet certain defeat. Honestly can't see Alcoa not moving up the way the county is growing. Might be in the Mountaineers best interest to stay in 5A because none of those teams on their schedule are anything close to Alcoa.
    • I say over as well. Barney, regarding the move to 4A, will the cross-town blowhards move up as well??
