We’re you not at Gordonsville in 2011,2012, and 2020 when Pitt came to town? Actually anytime we come to town it’s loud and rowdy. I’m not sure they like us very much.

You catch on quick.

However, in the late 90s, the place would be even more packed, especially when playing Carthage and Trousdale. Trousdale would be the last game of the season with the region championship on the line.

It was packed out in 86 and 87 as well when SP was up there for the qtrs.

It was the peace sign or deuces is what I believe the kids call it now. I was surprised it didn't get called either but there was so much excitement and intensity in the game that some emotion was going to come out. The ref did speak to him after the play. The atmosphere last night was one of the loudest and most energetic I have seen at Gordonsville in a long time.

It was a great atmosphere for football the other night. Maybe we can get away with some of that in our home opener against the macon co kittys

One thing I noticed last year that in the past made Gordy seem tougher and intimidating was driving through town all the houses had signs saying “Welcome to the Jungle”, and the team usually ran out to the playing of the song too!  I didn’t see, or hear, that last year.  Why not?

Not sure. Eye of the Tiger is typically what we come out to.

Last week I assumed we would make the drive down to Fayetteville just to get mercy ruled but our boys fought hard and even though the score was 42-20 if 2-3 plays end differently we had a very good chance at winning that game.

They were by no mistake the best team we will face this season playoffs included.

I know we have a few starters out but I think we found our tailback last week and if we get a few things straightened out defensively we could be a heck of a lot better than a lot of us previously believed.

I’m taking h2o by a score because it’s been six years since weve lost to Gordy and I don’t see them getting redemption for another 3-4 years. That’s if they even continue to play us lol

Spot on… My thoughts exactly! After watching that game I felt a lot better about our chances this year.

    • They should be pretty good in year two for Rang.  Replacing most of the offensive production losing Dozier, Hayward and Rembert , but they're are skill kids in place ready for their shot.  I know I say this every year, but the o line should show improvement after two years in Rang and Kevin Day's weight program.  I still would favor West over Plow and OR come November.  The Rebs will have to grow up a bunch between now and then, and will probably take some lumps along the way with that schedule.  But I predict come playoff time they will be ready.   One of their coaches half joked to me that they could go 5-5 regular season and win the state championship.  Ha ha.
    • there will be a couple of teams, that could make some noise
    • Dyersburg may win back to back to back championships. They are going to be hands down the best 3A team. Plus their District/region/sectionals are not very good. They basically just have to make it to region out of a 5 team district that has a few decent teams. South Gibson will be okay but they graduate their best player and there is nobody in the region 7 or region 8 who is going to compete with them.
    • I remember very well watching things change in the late 80's and yes it's all schools. Most people that are in charge today have any idea because they were raised and taught under this social experiment so they don't have a clue. Anyone that does see the truth for what it is usually try and hide it by blending in so that the School Gestapo doesn't round them up and take them to the Fuhrer ( kindly putting it ). Yes it is all schools not just Maryville. This train ride is not headed in a good direction and if the public had seen a movie of what's happening now back in 1980 everyone would have been headed home afterwards to change underware.
    • Hoping to make the playoffs.
