I comment earlier on a different topic how I thought Oakdale is better than people think.  The kids that are playing right now beat our middle school several years back.  I applaud the job Voyles has done up there. Considering their number every year, I think he has does a good job.  I didn't know about all these players being out for them so that may explain a few of their games

Yep they have my attention

3 way tie goes to overall record next OZ is way behind all in that category.

Almost positive this is wrong. If both OZ and Greenback win, then OZ has beat both Midway and Oakdale head to head and they are in as the 3 Seed. Oakdale would then take 4th seed due to head to head win over Midway. Midway would miss the playoffs. Greenback would be the 2 seed as the only other region team with 4 wins.

Now, I think it's a long shot this scenario comes into play cause I don't think OZ can beat Midway, but if they do and Greenback wins then this is how it plays out. According to the 2021-2022 TSSAA Football Regulations Book.

III. REGION PLAY & TIE-BREAKERS

A. All teams are required to play all other teams within their region. The teams with the best region records shall be declared the region winner, runner-up, third and fourth place and shall advance to the first round of the football play-off series.

B. If at any point when the following tie-breaking procedures are applied, one team has beaten all the other teams that are tied for a play-off position, that team shall be rated above the others.

C. In the event of a tie for the region winner, runner-up, third-place, or fourth-place team, if either team(s) has defeated the other(s) in regular-season play, the team(s) shall be rated above the other(s) in the standings. After the region winner has been determined, the tie-breaker procedure shall begin all over again starting at the top to work out the runner-up position. The procedure shall be repeated to determine the third- and fourth-place teams.

D. The following tie-breaking procedures shall be applied and all regular-season games, both region and non-region, shall count (After each of the following steps have been applied, item C above shall be applied.):

1. The team with the greatest number of victories.

2. The team who plays the greatest number of teams who win 50 percent or more of their games.

3. The team who has the greatest number of victories over teams winning 50 percent or more of their games.

4. The team whose opponents have earned the most victories.

5. The team whose opponents have received fewer defeats.

6. Coin Flip

Yes if 3 way tie and OZ has beat the other two in the tie OZ is in.

Good ole region 2, I remember back in the day when you never knew anything until the last game pretty much every year. We went and scouted the wrong team several times.

If and I havent clarified but I was told that we have all our linemen (starting linemen) back this Fri it will be the first game since Sunbright that we have played a game with all our starters. So maybe we can get back to playing better. We were just starting to get rolling at that time.

You laugh but an Oakdale fan said since Midway they havent had most of the good players and their stud QB hasnt played a lick since that game until they beat Harriman. Also they were missing two great players in the Midway game and our Info was wrong Midway was at full strength. So yep sounds like a mercy rule a coming!

Put that pipe down son :roflol:

I'll be real surprised if you don't win. Then again, I've been surprised a TON this year.

He’s a Harriman alum. He wouldn’t be my top choice but I sure wouldn’t mind having him on the sidelines as opposed to what we have now. He seems to consistently do more with less.

I remember seeing Cosby and Cloudland both come down around week 8 or 9 to watch Harriman play back in either 06 or 07 and we ended up getting Unaka then turned around and got busted in the mouth by you guys in the second round. Both years we came up there it was absolutely freezing! I’ll always remember those plain white helmets you guys wore. Tough bunch to go up against though.

    • Winfree's senior year was the season she needed to secure more college interest. That opportunity was taken away from her. A lot of false assumptions can be made about what happened and what the options are. Unfortunately, the former coach and administration did not allow Winfree to have due process. A lawsuit was filed for a reason, and it will run its course by people who conduct discovery and take depositions. Unless the parties settle out of court, a lot of the pertinent issues will come to the public surface. I wrote about many of the issues here: https://bdnewsletter.news/2023/11/17/grounds-for-investigation-and-suspension/ I interviewed Winfree after she was dismissed from the team and wrote about it here: https://bdnewsletter.news/2023/12/01/a-new-interview-with-sable-winfree/ Winfree had been on teams in Warren County since the fourth grade and never been dismissed from a team. The real questions are why was Winfree dismissed from the team, and why the administration backed a coach whom they did not rehire.
    • What is the hold up here? I have not heard anything in weeks. Are they waiting for the right person or is something else going on?
    • Per usual, we'll be hard to beat in the regular season, I'm sure. It's the post season that I'm more worried about, specifically the coaches. Maybe they'll be able to make some adjustments that will keep the momentum in our favor. How's Grays recovery coming along?
    • Something don’t add up here a college coach is not going to turn away a good player they need just because they didn’t get along with their high school coach
    • RR, you might remember. Didn’t someone hide the kicking shoe that game? It seems I remember we had missed a kick the week before, and we needed all the points we could get. We thought we had a better chance going for two, so $?&@$ hid the shoe after the first miss that game. No one on our sideline looked for it very hard.
