I remember posting last year that GH would be the best team in Mount Juliet in a few years....just didn't think it would be this year.  That part of the county is loaded with talent and always has been.

Will MJ continue to keep the baseball talent?

They are loaded in baseball for the next several years.

Facts about MJ football

1. in the past their defense was really good, not this year. Offense has been good enough, not this year.

2. They have not played a tough schedule in recent memory

3. Their best players are juniors (Bussell, Throneberry, Crisp, Daniyan)

4. Freshman team last year was their worst in probably a decade.  Better this year but not as good as Lebanon.

Throneberry is his best QB in my opinion. He is dynamic and needs to touch the ball just about every play. Can they beat GH , yes they have the talent to do that. Physically they were whipped up front by Lebanon, Hillsboro, and SC. It all starts up front, if they don’t win the line of scrimmage Friday night it is going to be painful.

Let’s keep it real!!! Up until about three weeks ago( MJ loss to Lebanon)  MJ continued to tell GH players they were “Rejects, losers, and  left overs” they told them “They only left MJ because they would never play at MJ.”  Fast forward 3 weeks.. The new narrative is….“Oh the talent pool has been split in half. That’s MJ’s  problem” “Oakland had to deal with it too”

Here are the FACTS.

* No starters leave the school they start at. The kids that went to GH did not ever get a chance at MJ due to the politics there. That is why they left. Now it is backfiring.

* GH has shocked lots of people. No one thought they could do what they have done. Especially, in year two of a program, year one of region play.

* They finally got  a weight room, so they could be on the same playing field as the other schools in the county. The off season is a big deal.

* GH had to learn to blend several different schools into one. The first year the players were figuring out their territory. Now they are all HAWKS

* Having ALL their players eligible this year has been a huge benefit. They have SEVERAL  players who have added to the depth of this team because of being eligible.

* MJ also pulled studs from central so it’s not like they didn’t gain anyone.

Regardless of the outcome or the excuses. It should be a good game. Hopefully they all stay safe! Weather is gonna suck!

    • If y’all lose to Farragut something awful has happened.
    • Get him to Bearden ASAP! Or anywhere, Karns hs is in rough shape, probably not getting out of it anytime soon.
    • I'm not a Powell grad.  I am a Bearden grad.   My son and daughter are Powell grads.   I did radio play by play for Powell, my last year was 2013. I also did radio play by play for South Doyle, and my last gig was at Maryville before I retired.   My oldest grandson plays in the Karns Middle program, so I see more Karns games than I do Powell these days.  I've been to 3 Powell games since 2013.   I don't have any ties to Powell, haven't since 2013.   No "y'all" there.    And the kid you are talking about does have a very good arm, but he's not the QB that Deuce Rogers is.  Rogers is a legit dual threat guy.  The younger kid now at Clinton, or about to be at Clinton, isn't the dual threat that Rogers is.
    • No sir. I watched it specifically and it was very dirty. He cleated the boy on purpose. Apparently, it’s an issue in football as well from what several schools have said. That said, looking forward to a good game 3. ER hit it well in game 2.
    • He is the transfer. 5star spoke on him in their new qb1 series. Didn’t list em as a transfer but I knew the name
