Brighton at Springfield Rd 1

Okay this is it, my favorite time of year, playoff football!

There will be no rounds off this year, it will be a tough road all the way to Chatt. for all of us over in the west.

We got Brighton coming to town next Friday, they are 6-4 and that is pretty much all I know about them. I have to believe Springfield will be well prepared for whatever they bring and be able to get to round 2. HC folks I know you are a little more familiar with them than we are, what can expect from the Cardinals next Friday and how you do think we matchup with them...

Brighton has two really good skill position players. That would be the QB and RB. Sharpe is there best player. He is extremely fast. He is D1 material from what I have seen. There defense is struggling and they give up a lot of rushing yards and points against average to above average teams. They have played a weak schedule. The region they are in has only two teams that are decent in Munford (Region Champs) and Memphis Central (2nd in region) both ranked in the top 10 in the state. Brighton lost big to both of them.

I see Springfield rolling pretty decent in this one. Brighton can put up points at times but they also give up a ton at times. That Springfield defense should be the difference maker in this one. If so, Springfield may win the game something like 42 - 21.

Looks like they score lots of points, but also give up lots.

They upset HC at HC a few years ago with a running QB or RB (can't remember) that HC could bring down.

That said, Springfield should take care of business in this one.

Toughest 1st rd game in a good while for the Jackets. It sure would be nice to hang 42 on the board.

Y'all should be able to score pretty good. Brighton gives up a LOT of points.

Agreed, a tough first round game.  You and I both know 42 from us is unlikely.  We got to keep playing that tough D

Y'all have 5 games scoring 34 or more points lol. Brighton has given up 74, 58, 57, 44, 61 this year in 5 of their games.

The Cardinals avg scoring is 41 ppg and give up 39 ppg. Their opponents overall record is 46-38. They played 9 games and were cancelled games from their opponents.

Jackets avg scoring 28 ppg and give up 9 ppg. Their opponents overall record  is 42-58. They played all 10 games and I don’t think their were cancelled games by their opponents.
