Indeed. Another note of interest. HVA never posted to the TSSAA job board. I find that interesting because typically you see this when someone is searching for a HC. Maybe they already knew who they wanted?

That seems to be the consensus opinion among those I have spoken with.  

More times that not previous/mutual relationships play a huge part in hires.

That's where the rumor of the sitting DC in Knoxville being courted came to be from people I have talked with. Young guy, not a ton of coordinator experience, even. It will definitely be interesting. This is a crucial hire with the current state of the program.

I imagine that is the case in most scenarios. Especially with the guys on staff that are not hired. It would be nice to hear some new names this cycle instead of the same old recycled names.

Jones was 75-98 as a HC. 56-54 at HVA. 38-34 Region Record at HVA. I think his HC career has sailed. Unless someone is wanting a very, very average hire.

Any more names surrounding this opening? I have only heard one and imagine they will be close to scheduling interviews soon.

They’re down to three candidates interviewing this week. One was a local boy who served as the token interview.

As I commented earlier, they knew who they were hiring before Potter was let go.
