I'm looking forward to this game. Always a great game when Meigs and TC play. I just hope we don't beat up on each other so extensively like past few games.

There have been some battles.

# 5 for TC Rankins earned all the respect in the world from us Meigs fans these last two years. He was a one man wrecking crew.

Heart and passion. We would hit the heck out of that kid and they would walk him off the field and he would come right back in the game and make a huge play.

People need to understand this. TC is not a passing team. That kid probably had 150 yards passing and rushing in the 4th quarter against us last year. I may be exaggerating a little but all who was at the Creekbank that night probably felt like I did.

Meigs got a pretty decent lead and set on it. Just set on it the second half. Run three times and punt. Same predictable Run plays and Rankins was there to stop everyone.

TC got the ball back with a chance to win the game late in the fourth with around a minute to go and about 70 yards and maybe 1 timeout.

If TC would have had another couple minutes left on the clock I have no doubt #5 would have led them down for a field goal or TD and the victory.

Meigs could not stop him the 4th quarter except the one time it was in extreme conditions 70 yards to goal and just over a minute or two in the game.

I do feel also the hits in that game had an impact on our fellas that next week.

Does Meigs have Kicker this year?

Nope we are going for 2 every time

We have a kicker and he was hitting at about 80 percent on EP but no field goals. Then we missed one against Tyner and it's been 2 point plays from there.

I would assume we will continue that trend.

Depending on situation we might kick one though

We ran out of time last year for sure, we had all the momentum but you guys took us to the woodshed in the 1st half physically and y’all were able to hang on.

We have a Kicker sometimes and sometimes we don’t, he’s a decently good kicker and can hit from 40-42 yds away, but he has to deal with some things a young teenager shouldn’t and we will leave it at that

Injuries and depth in the O-line will make this a very tough game for TC. Especially with Holder going down last week. Overall he is probably the best offensive lineman and very good on defense as well.

I keep hearing good things about this Holder kid. Hurts losing someone so valuable

Meigs feels your guys pain.

Last couple years Meigs lost Swafford one year A Mr. Football.

Then Martin Smith an all-state running back and I believe could have been Mr. Football but you got him and Swafford on same team.

Then Beeler who was an amazing receiver. Then Huckaby our Mr. Football semi-finalist this year broke his leg when he went up and made that amazing catch in the semi-finals against you guys.

And we had Key get hurt in the championship game early.

It's been rough.

We have been so close.

Our replacement for Meadows is T.Y. and this summer he broke both his legs in vehicle accident.

We are hearing good news on that though.

He hasn't played all year but has been ready and looks good last couple games there saying.

Get ready TC.

T.Y. might make an appearance Friday

It could come down to a field goal or an extra point.

Our game against Tyner was 19 to 18. We stopped a final 2 point conversion attempt by Tyner.

I can't remember how it went. I'm getting older every day.

I think we hit the first extra point to get to 7 then missed one to get to 13 then went for two on last one and got stopped to get to 19 or we might have went for two twice and missed both. I already said earlier I thought we missed an extra point against Tyner.

Who knows.

Kicking game could be huge

Turnovers and 3rd down conversions will be the difference in this game, when the Jackets have success they don't turn it over and they convert on 3rd down.

Got 48 minutes this year. Don't let it be a surprise. :thumb: last years game was put away though until we didn't adjust on defense. It is what it is. It made the game look alot closer than it was. Don't forget nearly every other drive it was 1st and 15 for us. Our coaches haven't forgotten that lol.

    • Sorry Barn. I wasn’t specific enough. It seems I’m always protecting the principal at 825. My interactions with her have been extremely positive, but very limited. With all the other stories being told, I’m confident there are other sides I am not aware of. Regardless, there are lots of decent people earning good checks up there. Maybe too good, which explains why no one is willing to speak up. My beef is with the poor communication among the athletic programs and with the administration. Seven years ago the poor communication led to my son missing graduation due to a sporting event that was planned months before. I chalked it up to the system being totally shocked that the baseball team made it out of their district, and our then AD was a football coach. Maybe they were surprised and did not plan appropriately. That was more palatable than they just didn’t give a crap. Déjà vu, seven years later, same thing. Different administration, but same result.  Maybe in seven more years, it will actually be “about the kids”. They should do better.
