Anyone have any news on how the Ripley-South Gibson scrimmage turned out?

I see in this week's Milan Mirror-Exchange that South Gibson outscored the Tigers 3 touchdowns to 1.  South Gibson had 262 yards of offense with 241 yards rushing   Ripley finished with 215 yards of offense with 178 yards rushing and 37 passing.

I went to watch Crockett County Vs Peabody, it was a solid game all around.

14-7 Peabody in 3 quarters,

7-6 Crockett in the JV quarter.

To read the threads on Peabody this year they are suppose to be a power house with a bulldozing offense if that’s the case Crockett played them very well Friday night

Is Ripley that down or is south Gibson that good this year again with losing stidham

Did you go to the scrimmage with Peabody? Just curious cause I heard Peabody may have held some kids out for various reasons. If not then definitely tip of the hat to you guys. How do you see Crockett improving over last year??

It is my understanding that Ripkey is bringing a lot back from last year. So South Gibson May be pretty decent if that’s the case.

After reading the article, it sounds like SGC is going to pick up right where they left off.

Until today, it looks like it has been a while since you posted.  I'm glad you're back.  We need some Cavalier fans on here as well as some Obion fans too.

    • RR, you might remember. Didn’t someone hide the kicking shoe that game? It seems I remember we had missed a kick the week before, and we needed all the points we could get. We thought we had a better chance going for two, so $?&@$ hid the shoe after the first miss that game. No one on our sideline looked for it very hard.
    • I will never forget the 1983 Heritage vs Maryville game. I remember driving home and listening to WGAP. Can't remember the announcers name. He asked Coach Story why he kept going for 2? Story told him " Why didn't you ask Renfro that last year"
    • TSSAA will let them all go to Mase.
    • Well nothing new, the Mustangs are really talented again this coming season!  They very well could go undefeated in regular season.  We shall see what happens in postseason.  I think the path to state title game is a little clearer than years past.  I think the Stangs are going to be really good and I think the traditional teams around in 2A are not going to be as strong.  It should be a fun season!
