The better team won tonight that’s for sure. I’m not by any means saying that. Fayetteville is one of the best teams I have seen. People just get to upset over the recruiting items. Every team that wins constantly does it unfortunately. I wasn’t saying Fayetteville did anything wrong.

Yep. Just like baxter’s top RB played his freshman year at …Cookeville!

You are absolutely wrong about recruiting by City.  Be careful what you accuse other programs of doing, especially when you have no information to back it up and data shows exactly the opposite.

99% of FHS players are “City lifers,” having been with us since Kindergarten or pre-K.

Being a “City lifer” is something the students - athletes or not - take great pride in.

With all due respect, I’m not saying this as “a guy in the stands.”  I’ve been on the City School Board for 20 years.

These young people love their school and obviously give their all every week preparing for every game.

God has blessed them with many talents, and when these 16 seniors graduate next May, 17 Fayetteville Middle School 8th grade football players will move up as freshmen and begin working to maintain the high standards as FHS student-athletes.  (Lots of other talented non-football players will move into FHS as well.)

Frankly, no recruiting is necessary at City, and we absolutely do not and would not allow it.

Yeah like how in 2019 that Quarterback lived in Alabama… or grabbing one of Huntland’s best players last year. Go tigers! Let me know in a few years when unofficial visits start and I may just send my son there!

the 2019 quarterback lived in tennessee. he lived in lincoln county but was outside the city limits. Tssaa ruled him eligible then changed their mind and said he was ineligible game 7. It was one player from huntland not “players” but he’s played aau basketball with fayetteville players and knew huntland was going down as a program. after the c/o 21 seniors left, so he was most likely transferring to franklin county or fayetteville

For someone who's been on here as a registered poster for two years, you really don't know squat.  Why don't you take a few hours and go back through all those threads about the player ruled eligible then he was not.  Or, you could read up on the Fayetteville player that came from Huntland.  We don't have to go and recruit players like some others have to.  We have players being approached to transfer away also!

I don’t need to read to know. The kid was living in Alabama. Heck when he committed to a school he said he lived in New Market on the picture.

what about all the kids that came from Lincoln county in 2020??

All the kids that came back from LC were originally Tigers.  They sat out the required time and were eligible to play after that.

So they’re not “lifers” nice. City coaches pull kids from northern Alabama and Lincoln county high school. It’s ok! It means they want to win!

besides the qb in 2019 name another kid from from alabama. The players that came from lc were at city from 1st grade to freshman/ sophomore year.

    • Eagleville hosting shows laziness on the part of the TSSAA and a complete disregard for the appearance of impartiality. Absolutely nothing against EHS. Its not their fault TSSAA is lazy.    I understand EHS staff work the games at Eagleville, and they don’t want to miss the EHS games. However this isn’t rocket science. It would take less than 1 hour to cross-train EHS and RHS volunteers at the opposite sites. If Eagleville (or any host)  makes the tournament, flip their game site and have the volunteers flip sites for the days their school plays at the opposite site. Magically the school’s fans would be present to watch the their kids play and the kids at least lose some familiarity and home field advantage.  It takes almost no effort and is a ~15 minute extra drive.
    • Jason Lambert should be the only choice for the Baseball coaching position.
    • From the stats I found online it looks like Gabe Eddington- .484, 44 total hits, 43 runs scored and 42 stolen bases.Meanwhile, on the mound, the Austin Peay commit had a record of 8-2, while compiling 50 innings pitched with an ERA of 1.82. Carson Parrott - 7-0 overall as a starting pitcher with a 1.41 ERA, 95 strikeouts and a save in 53 and 1/3 innings pitched. Parrott hit .392 with 3 home runs, 21 RBIs with a .566 OBP and .716 SLG. Jaxon Walker - .454, 53 hits, 38 RBI’s, 9 HRs.   Not saying the other three aren’t deserving but Quillen had better BA than all three and was just as dominate pitching.  Like I said I don’t know how you leave off the 3a Baseball player of the year last year when he put up better numbers.  I know Greeneville’s Coach wasn’t happy about it saying “I don’t give a s*** what anybody else says. That kid is the best player in Tennessee, and everybody else on our team rises to his level“.  I’m sure winning another State Championship as a junior is more important to Carson than the individual award, it’s just a head scratcher to not be nominated
