Clarksville area football is confusing. They  can do less with more….

Agreed even though Clarksville is on the rise

Northwest should honestly drop back down to 4A

Northeast going from 5A to 6A is going from the Frying Pan and into the Fire

But yeah I agree with this

Everyone is missing the point when it comes to all of the Clarksville teams playing up to 6A… it’s not about competing, it’s about drastically reducing your travel, thus saving the school district a ton of money (which is really all they care about anyways) and it guarantees 4 Clarksville teams will always make the playoffs (which has never happened?)

and the region that they would represent will get swept in the first round of the playoffs each year.CHS would be the only team with a chance of winning a 6A playoff game.  IMHO Montgomery County’s ban on Middle School football puts all their programs behind the proverbial 8 ball.  That coupled with virtually no community support, outside of CHS, solidifies the continuing struggle of these programs.  No coach will want to battle the odds.  We won’t see another Esau Latham in Clarksville

They would get swept, but all 4 teams would still get a quarter of the 1st round gate; and that’s what they’re really interested in

Sounds Very much like a metro situation. Poor facilities, poor coaching, undisciplined kids, all around bad.

It's simply a school system administration that doesn't care about sports. Never has.

Athletically, they could be another Murfreesboro if they wanted to. They just don't. Or at least they just don't care to invest what makes that possible. And whatever, that's their prerogative I guess. It costs a lot of money, time, and resources to be good at pretty much anything.

Been saying this for years, the issue is at the very top, sports is just not a priority, the pay for coaches in all sports is among the lowest in the state (at least the last I heard, a few years ago), coincidentally as you mentioned Murfreesboro, Rutherford Co is among the highest paid...

    • I extend my gratitude to ManCoverage for initiating this discussion thread tailored to the residents of Trousdale County. In times of adversity within our football team, it is imperative to have an outlet for expression, and what better platform than CoachT's Craigslist forum? I respectfully request that GOAT exercise discretion in his commentary, as his remarks have caused me personal distress.
    • I am inclined to wager a substantial portion of my financial assets on the likelihood that Waggoner shall transition to an alternative coaching vocation prior to the year 2028. It is my contention that discerning individuals are beginning to perceive his coaching prowess as lacking in the requisite excellence. Allow me to articulate the following assertion: Waggoner represents a markedly superior choice compared to the individual who perpetrated the act of fuel theft.   This individual exhibits a conspicuous propensity for frequent professional transitions, a trait which undermines his credibility and renders him an untenable choice for serious consideration. It is indeed confounding that his candidacy continues to garner attention and support.
    • Yeah same   It’s definitely true that tough times make tough kids, but some kids just have a big passion for the game and will become the best of the best no matter where they come from.
    • Hope you enjoy it King and good to meet you at state this year. Good luck to the Lady Landers. Keep battling.
