When it comes to the TSSAA and regions who knows but this is my stab at it! I could totally be wrong and it's hard to decipher what TSSAA will do when splitting up the state.

East to West or North to South?

There is a lot of travel in some of these regions but how the state and 2A teams are spread out in some areas it is what it is.

East 26 Schools

Region 1: Hampton (#6), Happy Valley (#7), South Greene (#5), West Greene (#2), Eagleton (#1), Cumberland Gap (#4), Oneida (#8), and Wartburg (#3)

*Region 1 has a lot of travel and is the biggest region with 8 teams. Also, Hands down the toughest region in the state.

Region 2: Jackson County (#2), Smith County (#6), Monterey (#3), York (#1), Trousdale (#7), Westmoreland (#5), and East Robertson (#4)

Region 3: Tellico Plains (#1), Polk (#2), Bledsoe (#4), Mario (#5), and Fayetteville (#3)

*Region 3 is the trickiest region to predict because of the distance between the schools and lack of 2A schools close to each other. Also, the smallest region in the state with only 5 teams so someone from another region could potentially move here.

Region 4: Cascade (#5), Forrest (#6), Harpeth (#4), East Hickman (#3), Cannon (#1) , and Hickman County (#2)

West 25 Schools

Region 5: Summertown (#1), Loretto (#2), Lewis (#5), Riverside (#4), Adamsville (#6), and Mt. Pleasant (#3)

Region 6: Camden (#6), Huntingdon (#5), JCM (#2), Milan (#3), Gibson (#1), Waverly (#4), and Peabody (#7)

Region 7 and 8: Memphis Schools

Region 7 and 8: Memphis Schools

Not trying to be "that guy", but why not switch Riverside and Adamsville from R5 with Camden and Waverly from R6? Or just Wavo and Adamsville. Not that I could do better, (or as well) but in the past those groupings have been more in line with what I asked.

I completely agree. Region 4A almost became a disaster as Gordonsville was very close to moving up (and could in the next classification if everything keeps growing in that part of Smith County). That would have left Clay County, Jo Byrns, and RBS as the only three teams in the region. The next closest teams to add would be Harriman from the East, Whitwell/Sale Creek/South Pitt from South, or possibly a team like Moore County/Cornersville, which would move another team out a region with more natural opponents. The other option would have been to absolve Jo Byrns into a region further west, Clay County/RBS into existing Region 2 or Region 3, and then split another region somewhere into two separate ones. This situation is a good argument for five classes, as Jackson County, Gordonsville, and Trousdale County would all safely be 1A and then you could have a legitimate 6-7 team region.

This is way too logical for the modern TSSAA.

This looks spot on! You need to apply for a TSSAA position. I heard the pay is good.

By George, if it looks as good to the guys from the east as regions 4,5&6 to me, I think you've nailed it!

    • They’ve both gotten worse. I’ve seen enough games to know that.
    • The only two transfers that Bearden has gotten that went on to play college football were a defensive back from Karnes, who transferred here way before the new coaching staff got here, and a running back from Carter, who went on to play at Maryville College. Both players received those offers while at Bearden, and both players got a diploma from Bearden High School. Therefore, they are Bearden kids, and you can’t do anything about that.   The transfer from Seymour didn’t win the job, what do you expect two quarterbacks to start at the same time? He played great on JV when he could stay healthy, and when he came in on varsity, he did great. The quarterback position is definitely going to be in good hands when the current starting quarterback leaves, but until then, they’re just going to be battling it out like every good quarterback competition does. The current starting quarterback has his flaws, and that is in the pass game, but what he doesn’t have flaws is running and scrambling, and if you go back and watch any game, which I’m sure you didn’t watch any, we used him very often, and when we needed a deep ball, we brought in the transfer from Seymour. The starting quarterback last year will be a senior this year, and the Seymour transfer will be a junior, so the Seymour transfer is definitely going to get his spotlight. He may even win the job this year. Football isn’t about who the newspaper thinks is the best kid. The best kid in the position will win the starting job, and I trust the coaching staff more than a newspaper or article to pick my starting QB.
    • I mean, we’ve only gotten two transfers that went on to play college football, one who went to UT Martin came his second semester junior year before the new coaching staff was here, and the other one went on to play at Maryville College, in which I don’t believe he had any interest prior to transferring.
    • An FYI: To see how an opponent has done against another opponent since 2001- go to the game by clicking on one of the teams. Click the G beside the game. For example, Milan: The info will show you the previous matchups and other info.
    • All these college signees went yo other schools for 3 years, were getting college offers then transferred to Bearden. It’s not like this staff did much to develop them.    The BBall coaches son and the Seymour transfer were some of the most talented QBs in the region, and you guys developed them into QBs who might complete one pass a game.
