Looks to me like these are the playoff standings without any major upsets this week.  Correct me if I'm wrong.

East

1. MBA

2. Baylor

3. McCallie

4. Pope

5. Catholic

6. Ryan

West

1. Winner of MUS/BA

2. Ensworth if MUS losses/ BA if MUS wins

3. MUS if they lose/Ensworth if MUS wins

4. CBHS

5. Briarcrest

5. SBA

It should be a 3 way tie if Ensworth wins and MUS beats BA.

All 3 with 1 region loss.
mus lost to ensworth

ensworth lost to ba

and in this scenario Ba losing to Mus

I think the next tie breaker would be overall record, which would go to MUS in this scenario.

Unless the wheels come off, I look for BA to beat MUS. BA has dominated the Memphis area schools whereas the MUS region games have been within 1 score (minus SBA).

Div. II-AAA East/Middle
MBA 5-0 (10-0)
Baylor 4-1 (8-2)
McCallie 3-2 (8-2)
Pope Prep 2-3 (7-3)
Knox Catholic 1-4 (3-6)
Father Ryan 0-5 (2-8)

Div. II-AAA West
Brentwood Academy 5-0 (8-2)
Ensworth 4-1 (7-3)
MUS 3-2 (7-3)
Christian Brothers 2-3 (6-4)
Briarcrest 1-4 (5-5)
St. Benedict 0-5 (2-8)

Last run in the territory for the foreseeable future for St. Benedict at Auburndale and Pope Prep. Safe travels to all, and some of you have some long trips ahead.

The top two seeds in each region receive a first-round bye.

II-AAA Playoffs -- opening round
Knox Catholic at Christian Brothers
St. Benedict at McCallie
Father Ryan at MUS
Briarcrest at Pope Prep

Knoxville Catholic (3-6), Father Ryan (2-8), Briarcrest (5-5) and St. Benedict (2-8) have zero business in the playoffs.  This is nothing more than the T$$SS trying to ring the cash register for a few extra bucks.  If you don’t have a winning regular season record your season should be over and the kids should be moving on to basketball and wrestling.

    • RR, you might remember. Didn’t someone hide the kicking shoe that game? It seems I remember we had missed a kick the week before, and we needed all the points we could get. We thought we had a better chance going for two, so $?&@$ hid the shoe after the first miss that game. No one on our sideline looked for it very hard.
    • I will never forget the 1983 Heritage vs Maryville game. I remember driving home and listening to WGAP. Can't remember the announcers name. He asked Coach Story why he kept going for 2? Story told him " Why didn't you ask Renfro that last year"
    • TSSAA will let them all go to Mase.
    • Well nothing new, the Mustangs are really talented again this coming season!  They very well could go undefeated in regular season.  We shall see what happens in postseason.  I think the path to state title game is a little clearer than years past.  I think the Stangs are going to be really good and I think the traditional teams around in 2A are not going to be as strong.  It should be a fun season!
