I was down on the floor where mason had just finished wrestling. I was standing there talking to Chase Creque and Rick Winseman. Everyone down there was confused. We had a pretty good view. Obviously not as good as the ref, but zac had a king fu ninja group on the foot. If he touched the sock it or grabbed the sock it would’ve not been as helpful as the way he had the foot…from my view. Inadvertent and let the wrestle. There were some other questionable calls in the match as well both those you let slide…..the one to end the match was wow.
No doubt if Gibson County wasn't playing I would be there. I am like you. Two questions I have is can Wayne County get over the mental hurdle of losing to Mckenzie and Davis and Reynolds the last two years?? And can Mckenzie guard the 6'1 dominant post of Wayne County and who can protect the ball the best?? I am like you. I just can't see Savannah Davis losing this one. I will have to see it to believe it. She seems to play her best against them. They shot like 75% against them at state last year. Good to luck to both though. Pickett County in a big one against Clarkrange that I forgot about. I also had no idea Sycamore beat Creekwood and put them in the bracket with South Side. That will be a sure enough dogfight. We have played both.
I’m biased but he’s from good football lineage. John Ross is a former player at Henry County and the grandson of former Patriots head coach Bill Hudson, and also the nephew of current Patriots assistant coach/former NFL player John Hudson.
Wishing him all the best at Camden!
Whitehead is a top notch, composed guy and role model. Came up from the middle school 2 yrs ago, so he’s coached most of the rising Jrs & Srs since 6th grade and has built good relationships w/them. He knows them and their skill sets well and will know how best to use them, if he’s given the autonomy to do so. The middle school defense was solid when these kids were in 7th/8th grade & I suspect/ hope we’ll see some positive changes under his leadership this upcoming season.
Also hope to see more players going both ways. Not popular, but they don’t have the luxury not to use the talent they’ve got both ways, if they’re going to compete, much less win. If done properly/carefully, they can maximize talent w/out burning players by the 4th quarter. Hope to see more of that next year.
The new weight room coach is also a great hire. Very knowledgeable, current and good w/ the kids. Completely overhauling their entire program, with workouts individualized & specific to player position (vs the dated, cookie cutter regimen they'd been doing). He’ll bring high expectations, much needed old school discipline, current innovations & serious business to the weight room. Should see some huge gains in the off season w/ this guy.
