Tell me you're ignorant without telling me you’re  ignorant.  Tell me the last 3a team Greeneville has played? (I know the answer and we didn't put up 70 against them and the 3a team before that was Alcoa)  Were you at these games and actually saw who played?  Go check a schedule before you start running your mouth and at least learn how to spell GreenEville if you're going to trash talk us.

Lmao they are absolutely Clueless. Greeneville starters or 2nd string doesn’t even make it to halftime in most those games

I’m SORRY i can’t pull for the Devils. How does a team put up 70 consistently against 3A Teams the past 5+yrs?  You can’t tell me your JV just ran up the middle in the 2nd Half. I don’t buy it. Greenville will hopefully get a dose of their own medicine for their Totally Unsportsmanlike Conduct. Go anyone but the Devils. And beat them SOUNDLY.

This Here^^^^^^ is so FUNNY....

The Mavs typically take there 1st out late 3rd if the score is like 49. I have never known Mavs scoring 70 points on a team and trust me the could have scored 100 many times. Does it really help to get 70. I am just saying. If it's second string for real Lord put in 3 and 4 teams. Anyways other teams are doing this. I state it here I am not a fan of running the score with and string.

Thank of it this way.  Devils play with class and this conversation is from last year facing Sullivan East.  When they had players that took it upon themselves to not make that game.  Also, it's the opposing coaching staff to prepare their team to play any given night.  How is it poor sportsmanship if our 3rds and JV are playing in this game the entire 2nd half.  Not a starter or 2nd stepped foot on the field.  Again 1st qtr recap 2 punts returned for tds, 3 ints with 2 going for tds, and the offense scored on their 3 drives.  all of this was first 10minutes of the game.  So, even to hear it's not fair tell that to the JV players that heard their name on that Friday, tell that to the East players that didn't make the trip just because, and finally ask the Coaches if they fielded their best to come and compete.

Yeah it's hard to tell players. But we played a this year down Scot County and decided to put in our linemen to run the ball slow the scoring down and give them a once in a lifetime opportunity. Huge guys running the ball. There lots of ways to not embarrass a team and coach in a off year without scoring 70 points.

At that point he isn’t a lineman he is a RB (big one at that and could easily get hurt if he doesn’t truly know how to run the ball.  I would have never put someone in at RB that hadn’t practiced that position).  I have no problem with letting the freshman and JV finish out a game (people are acting like we were throwing bombs instead of running up the middle like we did), like Morice said what was embarrassing was that Sullivan East players gave up on their team and didn’t even come to the game.  A conference game at that

Please explain these a lot ways besides taking three knees and punting the ball or putting in players at position that they have never played.

It is what it is. I would find a way to not do it but that's me. Other teams do it too, not many and many could do it to. But seriously I think a lot of people see this. I have no dog in the fight just an opinion. You have to think about that choice to score 70. Does it motivate your players probably. Anyway we look at it past years there were ways around it. But we all have opinions and that's only mine.

Back to Betsy and the Mavs. Win or lose the Mavs have, again had another great season and I would hate not to invite Greeneville to the Bull Ring. But we have to play the game.

    • They’ve both gotten worse. I’ve seen enough games to know that.
    • The only two transfers that Bearden has gotten that went on to play college football were a defensive back from Karnes, who transferred here way before the new coaching staff got here, and a running back from Carter, who went on to play at Maryville College. Both players received those offers while at Bearden, and both players got a diploma from Bearden High School. Therefore, they are Bearden kids, and you can’t do anything about that.   The transfer from Seymour didn’t win the job, what do you expect two quarterbacks to start at the same time? He played great on JV when he could stay healthy, and when he came in on varsity, he did great. The quarterback position is definitely going to be in good hands when the current starting quarterback leaves, but until then, they’re just going to be battling it out like every good quarterback competition does. The current starting quarterback has his flaws, and that is in the pass game, but what he doesn’t have flaws is running and scrambling, and if you go back and watch any game, which I’m sure you didn’t watch any, we used him very often, and when we needed a deep ball, we brought in the transfer from Seymour. The starting quarterback last year will be a senior this year, and the Seymour transfer will be a junior, so the Seymour transfer is definitely going to get his spotlight. He may even win the job this year. Football isn’t about who the newspaper thinks is the best kid. The best kid in the position will win the starting job, and I trust the coaching staff more than a newspaper or article to pick my starting QB.
    • I mean, we’ve only gotten two transfers that went on to play college football, one who went to UT Martin came his second semester junior year before the new coaching staff was here, and the other one went on to play at Maryville College, in which I don’t believe he had any interest prior to transferring.
    • An FYI: To see how an opponent has done against another opponent since 2001- go to the game by clicking on one of the teams. Click the G beside the game. For example, Milan: The info will show you the previous matchups and other info.
    • All these college signees went yo other schools for 3 years, were getting college offers then transferred to Bearden. It’s not like this staff did much to develop them.    The BBall coaches son and the Seymour transfer were some of the most talented QBs in the region, and you guys developed them into QBs who might complete one pass a game.
