Well, I'm pretty sure Elizabethton is not the same team AC played earlier either. So that's a wash. Betsy gets the nod in the coaching department, so I'll go with the Cyclones.

I would be remissed not to give the best Six Win and Five Loss team in the state a shout-out, The BLACK AND ORANGE OF ELIZABETHTON! What you all did was amazing after your start this year.

Since you are either unwilling to do the leg-work, or ashamed to post them, I can help you with some statistics.  Gillum's record:

Scott High School  3 seasons  14-16

Anderson County  13 seasons  108-45   12-9 in playoffs, never made it past 3rd round.  In 4 of those 13 seasons, he's had a losing record.

At this point, he's a good coach, but far from "one of the best coaches in the state", as you've asserted.

Don’t waste your time trying to explain anything to this 16 year old.

Man this is crazy but for the 1st time ever I'm feeling good about pulling for Elizabethton.    Who knows, if this keeps up then perhaps later in the week the crystal ball is going to start leaning towards the Cyclones, let's wait and see what happens...

Scott is impressive to say the least. Overall Great state statistics. Playoffs Good. A couple years due to injuries in playoffs one can comfortably say they Should have a gold ball. When I said one (of) for his time I would still say that. But you have to understand that is my nephew and regardless who believes he one of the best, to me he is. And yes that is biased statement, but I would expect any Uncle to feel that way too.

No blazer you are a very intelligent person, much like me. You are correct and I am too. We still have a few days left don't reverse any feelings.

Good post Mav. You know I think Coach Davy Gillum is a Dang Good One. Even though my boy Moogly has called me a hater twice before for saying it. Oh the passion of youth.

      Dyersburg is going to be good, really good. As mentioned, they have a lot of talent on the way and the trio of Chelby, Joya, and KayKay will only be better with a full season together under their belt. To me, playing in Murfreesboro two consecutive postseasons will only serve to make them more dangerous if/when they stand among the final eight teams this March. Experience, good or bad, always makes you better. And not only do they have experience, they know how to win there. Schedules are coming together for all of the teams and I am excited about what I am seeing on the preliminary drafts on Dyersburg’s schedule. I know I am being a tease, but it’s simply not my place to announce what another school is doing. With that said, I won’t go into specifics. However, I am excited about renewed home and away contracts for the non-district portion of the calendar. I think west Tennessee will have a lot of interest as well.

      Couldn’t agree more.. Tate is a special kinda player , but fortunately for us we get a best of 3 series. I think our pitching is better than last year when we made the trip to west tn. Should be a fun 2 or 3 games.
