Obion Co. @ Milan Rd 2

The Rebels come to Milan for a rd 2 playoff game. Milan took the regular season game just a few weeks ago 28-6. But Obion is playing well after taking out #1 seed and 9-1 Melrose. Who takes this one??

I understand the score may have been a lot closer first time than it indicates, like maybe they had some turnovers in the red zone. Color me shocked they got by Melrose. I know Memphis teams are poorly coached and don't react well to schemes, but I thought the athletic ability was too great for Melrose. Haywood has played all these teams and I thought OC was the weakest by far and was most impressed by Milan regardless of the score. Those who know better told me OC would win handily over Melrose- that they are well coached and do things right and not to judge by the way Haywood dominated them. All that said, I see Milan advancing by a score of 24-14 and coming to HC in week 3.

Milan has been a streaky team this season. Won 4 in a row to start the season then the injury bug hit and we lost 3 in a row. Now we have won 4 in a row and are getting “somewhat” healthy. Hopefully we continue this winning streak.

I gotta figure Milan repeats their previous win over Obion. Maybe it’s just so many years of watching Obion County have a great band and a terrible football team. If they can go into Milan and come away with a win in round 2, I’ll be amazed. And, they will change my preconception of their team.

I’m super proud of region 7-4a!! I’m glad Obion beat Melrose. I didn’t see that happening. I also don’t see them beating Milan. But who knows.

I’m glad they won too. Don’t have to go to Memphis next week.

Congratulation on the playoff win Obion. That second round playoff win remains elusive as Milan wins by at least two scores.

So I see where Johnny Light for Obion had 55 carries for 323 yds and 5tds against Melrose last week. Those are SUPERMAN type numbers. Absolutely insane. Hope we can slow him down.

I was impressed with Light when Haywood played Obion.  I'd love to know his stats against the Tomcats. 

Even though I thought Melrose would have a hard time stopping him, I was one of those who believed the Wildcats would win.  I just didn't think Obion would be able to stop Melrose's offense.

That said, congratulations to the Rebels and all of the other 7-4A teams.  I hope one of us (Haywood, Milan, South Gibson, or Obion) will make it to Chattanooga and win the gold.

What kind of stats did Light have when Obion played Milan a few weeks ago?

I think Milan is the better team but this is a dangerous game for the Dawgs. Idc what happened a few weeks ago this Rebels team and community are riding a high right now with their first playoff win since 2017. Belief is a powerful thing and right now OC believes they can get it done.

I know that the Rebels are in the same region and all as the Tomcats but that program is one in would like to see make consistent deep runs in the playoffs!
