Who told you that?

An unhappy hornet fan through a tissy fit in Facebook. He started off blaming the refs, then he started in saying Haywood isn’t that good, Hornets played two better teams than us this year, then said play us in baseball. It was kind of comical. I was just joking by the way!

I am growing to hate social media. However, I did see a FG attempt by SGC that was clearly good and the refs said it was no good. Absolute head scratcher.... Would not have made much a difference in the outcome of the game but that field goal was clearly good.

Football games bring out a lot of emotions in folks. When anger, disappointment, and emotions get involved it makes for a volatile situation sometimes. Any reasonable person would agree that Haywood has a better team this year. Doesn't mean we have a bad team or boys didn't play hard.....

I thought that field goal was good too, lol. On the other hand, the first onside kick went about seven yards and towards the end of the game Haywood clearly recovered a fumbled kick right in front of me. If Haywood got the best of an officiating crew that would be the first time. And for whatever reason, SGC is not well liked among many in the region this year - a lot which has to do with an arrogant young coach who encourages some iffy pregame things and talks a bit too much. He might learn something along the way. Gonna miss the series either way if SGG doesn't re-up.

Ha! Being a ref is hard. I have learned to it banging on them so much because I do not think most folks could do a better job. I can not speak for the new coaching staff, but history says SGC would love to keep Haywood on the schedule. I doubt they do because it would likely be the quarter final match up in the playoffs. Back before we were region opponents we scheduled Haywood for 2 home and away series I believe.

arrogant young coach who encourages some iffy pregame things " I have no idea man... Can not comment 1 way or the other, because I simply have no idea.

we had the same thing happen against Crockett. Everyone in the stadium thought it was good even the reason guys. Officials said no good.

    • Yeah they both should be good games whoever matches up with who. Wartburg has beaten Oliver Springs all 4 times they’ve played this year but they have been close games. I believe Wartburgs first sectional appearance was last year when they went to North Greene. Good luck to you all!
    • What did they do this year? Every other year, I’ve gone to one. It’s been a little scrimmage and then a bunch of games like a quarterback throwing challenge, O line versus D line, push-up challenge, etc.    But not surprised, nothing new that the program has been on the decline since they lost their recruiting middle school coach. The baseball coach still does his fair share, but he recruits good baseball players. Not good football players, and decent baseball players, definitely nothing like the middle school coach could do, he left for a middle school job down near Cleveland high school a few years back.
    • Never in my life have I seen a team in a scrimmage against their own defense look so lost and confused. The defense didn’t look much better, the coaching staff can’t keep their anger together, not only with the players but also with their other coaches. I feel awful for those players. None of them look like they wanted or should’ve been out there, but for the grown men on the sidelines acting like fools, it's just embarrassing to the Farragut name and reputation. I now see why they chose not to live stream this on their YouTube channel.
    • We could sure use some math teachers country wide. Ever go into a store or restaurant and the bill comes to $9.97 and you give them a ten dollar bill and 2 pennies because you wanted a nickle back and then the meltdown starts and the next thing two more people have to come and help figure it out and the place comes to a complete halt. I see this everyday and it's a sad representation of all these schools allowing these kids out the door to get shortchanged the rest of their life.
