Gordonsville @ Clay Co Part 2. THE REMATCH

If 5 can go for us, I just don’t see Clay being able to beat Gordonsville twice. Gville has been battle tested a lot this year and had to battle the injury bug at times and still have made it this far and have a lot of momentum after beating SP last night. It will be another good football came but I look for us to win by 2 scores.

Not so fast my friend. This group of Bulldogs have never lost to Gordonsville at home and they don't plan on ending their careers doing so. I predict a Bulldog victory, 21-14 on a late touchdown run by either Joseph Marcom or Keaton Arms. I certainly echo Boarhog's statement. Hope #5 is back 100% for the Tigers on Friday night.

What did y’all do on offense last time we met other than hit on 3 trick plays? We flat out beat ourselves with an atrocious 3rd quarter

As I recall y’all extended a drive via a fake punt yourselves.  That’s as much a trick as any play we ran.  A play ain’t a trick play if it’s something you practice and run.  If it’s drawn up in the dirt during a timeout I guess it’s a trick play then.  How many big games, at all levels, over the years have been won by a gutsy call though?  Several.  You do what you’ve gotta do.

Tell you what, if y’all can dial up 3 trick plays and connect on all 3 of them again and beat us. I’ll tip my cap to you and wish you the best of luck in Chattanooga. But I don’t see that happening and I also don’t see you all beating us by lining it up and coming right at us. We gave you all 2 touchdowns last go around because of our mistakes and the other 2 were on gimmick trick plays. I wouldn’t say you all beat us last time. We beat ourselves

What were the gimmick trick plays?  Maybe I wasn’t at the same game?  And as far as the “we beat ourselves” goes I could easily say we had blowed coverages on y’all’s 2 TD passes and that we should’ve easily won 35-7, instead of 27-20.

Only one of Gordy's turnovers resulted in a touchdown, which I wouldn't call a giveaway, but a great play to read the screen and step in front of it. The other two resulted in punts. What other touchdown was a giveaway by the Tigers in your opinion?

We shanked a punt and gave you the ball at the 35/40 yard line

That "shanked" punt was done to keep it away from our returner, who is one the most dangerous returners in 1A. When you intentionally try to locate the punt near the sideline, a shank is inevitable, and is still likely better than letting our returner have a chance to run one back.
