Trader didn’t Scotts Hill’s best baseball player of all Time drive 35 mins from Lexington every day? One of your best now travels from Decatur Co every day. Just confused on why it matters about innocence or yadayada when your own school does some shady stuff. Yes I know the Henderson Co enrollment situation. I know Shelby Co’s and charter schools’ too.

Guess that you're speaking of Evan Russell. Yes, he did (more like 15), after he was old enough. Before that, he had to ride with his older sister who didn't play any sport in high school. FYI, he originally went to Lexington to play baseball (they were regulars at the state tournament & we were not). Pity that he chose to transfer to Scotts Hill and sit out his year, or his career stats would be even better than what they were.

Don't know which Decatur Co. kid you're talking about, there are too many. I do know that Henderson and Decatur Co's had an agreement for about 25 years in which they (DC) counted their students toward state and federal funding and paid a tuition to Henderson Co. to educate them. Decatur County backed out of that agreement a few years back, so we dropped tuition to allow our local kids to be schooled in their own community. Before the agreement, each county paid their own teachers and busing...the county line goes through the old gymnasium.

Sometimes we know just enough to be even more wrong than if we knew nothing.

McKenzie beat a good Huntingdon team early.  They beat Fayetteville

The eye test tells me Peabody was better than Fayetteville.  Mase was better than Fayetteville.  Will the Rebels win?  They better stop Brown.  The difference maker for McKenzie is their pure Qb.  Mase 31-Mc 35.  That score can also be flipped.  Peabody lost to Mase on offense not defense.  To many missed opportunities.  I think the Rebels are more complete.

You could shoot a ball from one county to the other!

    • And that needs to go, Charter ,private ,magnet, city and any school that operates differently than pure public schools should be separated. What really needs to be done is address urban and rural. About all the usual powers have access to several kids from other schools period.
    • Sad deal. Hate it. So the coach that kicked her off is now fired??
    • Slightly off topic from a gender standpoint but just observed several boys volleyball games in the Knoxville area for a short spring season. The guys seemed to have a great time. There were several club players on each team but several football, basketball and tennis players involved. Knoxville Catholic, Maryville, Heritage, Knoxville West maybe William Blount had teams. Thanks to Coach Brent Carter from Knoxville Catholic/K2 for getting it together. I’m sure the coaches involved got several laughs trying to coach guys that really had no idea what they were talking about but pretty athletic and competitive. Catholic’s best basketball player told the coach he had played a lot of 2:3 and 1:3:1 but never a 3:3 LOL Maybe it will catch on with some more schools next year.
