Not to mention, why would someone leave HVA. when they have backing, and time to improve, to go to a program where coaches might be released after one year?  These boys have families to care for.  They need stability.

I have a feeling there is a lot we don’t know about Cummings departure. The cussing is a speculation on here, but I believe there is more to it. Also, why did Cummings himself say he didn’t want to talk about the specifics if it was just the cussing?

So full of crap.  If he had actually done anything wrong enough to justify firing him, they wouldn't be able to keep him on as a teacher.  You get that right?

Time will tell. Eventually, we will hear something factual, I hope, instead of speculation from us outsiders on this forum.

That's just fact.  It's not a time will tell.  If he had done something "wrong" it would have been on the paper and they wouldn't be able to keep on staff.  Public schools don't have secrets.

Multiple news sources printed their articles and we got the message he sent to the team.  It's not speculation.

If he had done something wrong, and then he sent a message to the team after that, how in the heck would you keep him on as a teacher?

Nope.  His "sin" was that he was hired by the previous principal.

I'm looking at this year's OR football program and OR has had a total of 12 coaches, if you count "Joe" twice, and only one coach was let go after one year. Since that can hardly be defined as a "pattern", I think most head coaches in the area, HVA included,  would consider the OR head coaching position., Now if OR had a history of firing coaches after a season or two, that would be a different story...but that's not the case.

Ridiculous. It's common knowledge that the previous principal and the current principal are good friends.

Your point?

And more times than not "common knowledge" is complete BS.

    • Coalfield definitely isn't the same team they've had the past few years. They are still the favorites to make it out of their region because of their pitching. They have 1 arm that sits low to mid 80s and 2 other arms that are mid to high 70s with good off speed stuff. If you can avoid their top 3 bats in their lineup then you have a shot to beat them. Their 4-9 hitters are average at best. Wartburg's ace was able to shut them down last week in the game Wartburg won 4-2.
    • It is the longest season. Plus, 30 games a year. No Christmas break. I would say basketball is the most time consuming.
    • No movement on Chester? South Gibson? Gibson County?
    • Winfree's senior year was the season she needed to secure more college interest. That opportunity was taken away from her. A lot of false assumptions can be made about what happened and what the options are. Unfortunately, the former coach and administration did not allow Winfree to have due process. A lawsuit was filed for a reason, and it will run its course by people who conduct discovery and take depositions. Unless the parties settle out of court, a lot of the pertinent issues will come to the public surface. I wrote about many of the issues here: https://bdnewsletter.news/2023/11/17/grounds-for-investigation-and-suspension/ I interviewed Winfree after she was dismissed from the team and wrote about it here: https://bdnewsletter.news/2023/12/01/a-new-interview-with-sable-winfree/ Winfree had been on teams in Warren County since the fourth grade and never been dismissed from a team. The real questions are why was Winfree dismissed from the team, and why the administration backed a coach whom they did not rehire.
    • What is the hold up here? I have not heard anything in weeks. Are they waiting for the right person or is something else going on?
