true.  plus it would be nice to split nashville between the actual east and west.  lipscomb has away game in knoxville, chatt AND memphis which is difficult in any case but especially since we play 3 out of state teams every year.

That's the price of wanting to be nationally ranked. Not a criticism, just the facts. The top ranked teams in the country don't worry about travel. At some point teams that want to be nationally ranked have to consider leaving state classiifcations and playing a schedule they design.

As long as boarding schools are allowed to bring in kids that have already established an athletic record and the TSSAA grants them immediate eligibility it's likely that the trend of boarding schools winning state championships will continue.  Nothing at all against the boarding schools as they are playing by the rules but it's near impossible to compete with them under the current rules that are in place.

King's Academy don't count. They struggle each year but do better

im not complaining about the out of state games and no one I know of is complaining about the region games except me.  im old and live 5 minutes from our stadium and dont want to drive 3 hours on for region games.

however, I was mistaken.  I thought since we were playing briarcrest that they were in our region which would mean we have memphis to knoxville for in region play but I was mistaken.  we do have those games but our region is nashville, chatt and knoxville.  my mistake.

Also the price you pay for playing in a really small class. 49 privates in 3 classes, your gonna have some league games that are a heckuva road trip

The public schools need to focus on academics and school safety before they even begin to discuss athletics.  The traditional inner city public schools are out of control and most of the time those kids are 3 and 4 years behind those kids graduating from the top tier private schools.

You better watch out with posts like that.  trynottosuck will come after you for mentioning anything other than Xs and Os.  Of course, the same rules does not apply to him.

    • Did this happen? Does anyone know? Ripley has their HC job posted on the bulletin board over the weekend.
    • Coalfield definitely isn't the same team they've had the past few years. They are still the favorites to make it out of their region because of their pitching. They have 1 arm that sits low to mid 80s and 2 other arms that are mid to high 70s with good off speed stuff. If you can avoid their top 3 bats in their lineup then you have a shot to beat them. Their 4-9 hitters are average at best. Wartburg's ace was able to shut them down last week in the game Wartburg won 4-2.
    • It is the longest season. Plus, 30 games a year. No Christmas break. I would say basketball is the most time consuming.
