1A- Richland heads to East Robertson for possible state tournament preview

Richland and East Robertson were forced to weather cancel early in the season, but wanted to get this one in.

Should be a fantastic game on Saturday.

We have to make it out of the Barn in Loretto first. Last game in "The Barn" so you know it will be a crazy atmosphere. Not to mention Loretto has a really good team. Gonna be an exciting few days for the young Raiders.

I guess more that Loretto is a 2A game it doesn’t really matter much for the post season. ER is the defending state champs and a team that if they made the tourney could play again.

should be a fun game for sure. excited to see where these young guys are as a team going in to tournament play

Clay County and ER virtual locks to be back at the glass house this year

Coming from a fan of ER I have to take Richland in this one ER just hasn’t played there best ball recently losing 3 games in a month or so. I’m hoping it’ll change and it probably will after this last loss to Greenbrier but you never know having the athletes on the court like they do and having a talent like Elijah Groves anything can happen.

Who does Clay County have this year? I know they have 1 of the starters from last year but i’m not sure of who else.

Clay doesn’t have any big name players like they have in the past but what they do have are some very good athletes that show up every day and work to be the best team they can be. They have dedicated parents that support their kids as well as the entire community. What they also have that no else has is Rob Edwards. One of the best coaches this state has. There was an interview of the Houston Oilers coach Bum Phillips many years ago back in the 70s they were discussing Don Shula head coach of the Miami Dolphins at the time. He made a statement about Shula that “he can take “hisn” and beat yourn and then take “yourn” and beat hisn.. Coach Edwards is the same way in my opinion. So to answer your question as to who Clay has, they have a bunch of young men that play hard for their coach and their team and their community that is what they have.

Embarrassed at how many people have showed up for this. Richland may have brought more than ER. Two top 10 1A teams are  playing and it sounds like a funeral.

I’ll take the win, we still don’t look like we’re playing our best though. #23 and #12 from richland are some pretty good ball players though.

Definitely a fun one. 12 and 23 are both Sophomores as is 15. Let’s do it again in about a month in the Boro.
