Loretto is tough. JB Clifton is a big time shooter. I hope they get their PG back. They will be a handful. Y’all will likely have to play Loretto or Summertown in substate.

A few games I saw at the UTM camp today. Green checks winners. Several I missed.

✅South Gibson vs Obion County Central

✅Union City vs Jackson Co

✅ Jackson South Side vs JCS

✅Dyersburg vs Marmaduke

✅South Fulton vs JCS

✅Union City vs Middleton

✅South Gibson vs Hutchinson

✅South Fulton vs Dyersburg

What did you think about Dyersburg? Been a lot of hype for them this off-season

We played their JV this spring and they are talented. The Freshman PG coming in can go for sure. If they can get the chemistry worked out they will be good. Very talented.

Fast, athletic, and got some length. They just didn’t look like they wanted it against South Fulton. They were fresh and SF just played JCS. But they were a little flat. I was impressed with their earlier game. They’ve got some ballers

Heard the incoming freshman is injured not playing right now

Westview has FOUR currently recovering from ACL surgery. They also have several that play big time travel softball (the downfall of being state champions in both basketball and softball). I’ve heard that it just wouldn’t benefit enough to play camps right now for them. They have played their jv in a few camp games

They have to learn to play together. Right now it looks more like each of them want their own points. I just didn’t think they were clicking the times I have seen them play. That will work for most games but they will have to figure it out to be successful for the season

      RR, you might remember. Didn’t someone hide the kicking shoe that game? It seems I remember we had missed a kick the week before, and we needed all the points we could get. We thought we had a better chance going for two, so $?&@$ hid the shoe after the first miss that game. No one on our sideline looked for it very hard.

      I will never forget the 1983 Heritage vs Maryville game. I remember driving home and listening to WGAP. Can't remember the announcers name. He asked Coach Story why he kept going for 2? Story told him " Why didn't you ask Renfro that last year"

      Well nothing new, the Mustangs are really talented again this coming season!  They very well could go undefeated in regular season.  We shall see what happens in postseason.  I think the path to state title game is a little clearer than years past.  I think the Stangs are going to be really good and I think the traditional teams around in 2A are not going to be as strong.  It should be a fun season!
