SH always seems to have the athletes but they just cannot get it together as a team.     A school of their size and with the athletes they have, they should be crushing all the local competition.    But they don't.        Elizabethton on the other hand has had amazing success the last few years, but had a huge dropoff last year (by comparison to prev years).       So something tells me the Cyclones are hungry and motivated.      Talk around the water cooler is that SH knows they have much better athletes and they are going into this one to make a statement.... but are way too overconfident due to our opening sentence above.   So I'm picking Elizabethton to play with way more control and discipline and come out on top in a squeaker.    Maybe something like 23-21.

Something tells me you could be wrong. Who knows? We'll see how the game winds up.

Track, how would you evaluate your scrimmage competition this summer. You always make solid posts.

West ridge scrimmage EHS won 28-7 I believe. Defense sacked their qb 6 times. Looked solid

Union scrimmage I caught bits and pieces of but from what I saw it was similar to WR.

So earlier I said the biggest q is our offense after watching the jamboree. We had trouble moving the ball and couldn't make the big plays. Defensively we are solid. The guys swarm the ball and seem to be able to find their way to the qb so we should be able to put a lot of pressure on QBs this year. Like most years we dont have a lot of size but we have a lot of speed. Until we get things clicking in the offense expect some lower scoring and possibly closer games this season.

Thank you, I knew I could count on you for a report.

No problem. Realistically I could see us losing 3 games this season. DB, SH, Greeneville. However I believe we could upset SH and DB but I don't really see us getting Greeneville this year. But stranger things have happened and we have a coach that will have us ready and dangerous. The road games early will hurt us though.

Agree, rivalry games involve pride, some anger,  and yes respect! I saw the Toppers in person against GHS. This could be one of their best overall teams in years. They do have a few players that don’t seem to mind getting a 15 yarder. Devils destroyed Boone, but Boone had a good scrimmage against DB. I think you have DB. Plus the motivation of showing a QB, he might have made a faulty decision.
