Jeff Co travels to the Hill

Both teams coming off big wins after opening week losses. Jeff rushed for over 400 yards against Sevier Co. If JC is able to consistently run the ball and get a timely pass here and there, they will be tough to beat. Defense is solid. Can’t give up ST scores in big games which has become a staple under Riley. 
 

Johnson City has been a tough place to win for JC for a variety of reasons. Won’t be easy this week either

Jeff County has the opportunity to upset SH like they did DB. Barring Maryville or somebody like that entering R1 again, Jeff County might have the opportunity to win a region 1 title one of these years with both DB and SH being mediocre. And of course West Ridge being new and Mo sucking. Doubt they will let William Blount stay in the region. Too much of a cupcake division.

Like to see Jeff get the win at Spurrier Field, Science Hill has some good athletes that showed up last week in a big win at AC. I will go with the Hilltoppers, but I would like to see Jeff win, 28-14 Toppers

The Govs are 3-0 and have competed well against Jeff County in our up years.

Fun game to watch. First half was ugly football. 2nd half was exciting. My biggest 3 takeaways were:

1. If SH had a good QB, they would be a very dangerous team

2. Jeff is a tough team again. Physical across the board

3. The officials were terrible both ways. If they threw 1 flag, they threw 30. It ain’t about the guys in the stripes
