The Chargers also have some stiff competition coming up with Ripley and Westview.  I'm hoping the Chargers can win out as well and claim 2nd place in 7-3A.

It does seem odd that we're both Tomcat and Charger fans.  There aren't too many of us in that "prestigious" club!  I know there is @Chargercats, but I haven't seen him post in a while.

LOL  Sounds good!! I haven't eaten there in a while! It's usually Gus's if i go to Mason!! Best fried chicken anywhere!

Yes it is still open. The best Fried Chicken anywhere!! There is one in Dyersburg too! In my opinion, though Mason is the original, the Gus's in Dyersburg is better.

Yep, and they franchised their brand and Memphis now has several Gus’s restaurants. The restaurant started years ago in Mason as Maggie’s. Maggie invented the chicken recipe. When she died, her nephew, Gus, inherited the place. Changed the name to Gus’s. Gus died a few years ago, but his family still runs the place.

Thanks, nice to see those family businesses stay alive . I remember eating there one time several years ago. Used to do some work in and around that area.

I love fried chicken, but I’ve never been to Gus’s.  I’m not a big fan of my “personal fowl” being hot and spicy.  To be honest, I don’t think I’ve been to Bozo’s in 3 years.  I met @CHARGERFAN the last time I was there.  I guess we could call that the inaugural meeting of the Tomcat/Charger fan club!

Now that I think about it, a good number of CC fans live in Haywood County.  Safe travels to you, and safe travels to Haywood fans as well.   Good luck to both the Cats and the Cavs.  I’m praying for an injury free game.  It should be a good one.       RR, you might remember. Didn’t someone hide the kicking shoe that game? It seems I remember we had missed a kick the week before, and we needed all the points we could get. We thought we had a better chance going for two, so $?&@$ hid the shoe after the first miss that game. No one on our sideline looked for it very hard.

      I will never forget the 1983 Heritage vs Maryville game. I remember driving home and listening to WGAP. Can't remember the announcers name. He asked Coach Story why he kept going for 2? Story told him " Why didn't you ask Renfro that last year"

      Well nothing new, the Mustangs are really talented again this coming season!  They very well could go undefeated in regular season.  We shall see what happens in postseason.  I think the path to state title game is a little clearer than years past.  I think the Stangs are going to be really good and I think the traditional teams around in 2A are not going to be as strong.  It should be a fun season!
