I think they are probably capable. But there’s been lots of close games between these two teams the last few years and that is what I expect tonite

Same. More than capable though. Athletes just has good as last years. Most of line from last year.

Athletes are not even close compared to last year it’s  night and day, however they do have a shot to win the region which is a good step in the right direction for next year. If they show up in the trenches, limit turnovers and penalties this game will be close. If Clay don’t tackle like last week then musgrove will run wild. If Clay wins they make Gordy pass the ball by stopping the run, Clays secondary is pretty good so I expect them to make some plays to keep this one close.

Clay 28

Gordy27

If that was the case, then the Dogs wouldn’t be 6-3 and would’ve have gotten tan off the field last week against TC. You still may have a good ball club, but this team isn’t anywhere near as good as last years, I haven’t even seen them play yet and I can guarantee you that

Definitely not fair to compare last year's team and this year's team. Last year's team was the best in a generation and the most successful in program history. However, let's not act like Gordonsville didn't lose a very good senior class from last year as well. Tonight's game will come down to which team wins the battle in the trenches and who can avoid making costly mistakes.

    • Well nothing new, the Mustangs are really talented again this coming season!  They very well could go undefeated in regular season.  We shall see what happens in postseason.  I think the path to state title game is a little clearer than years past.  I think the Stangs are going to be really good and I think the traditional teams around in 2A are not going to be as strong.  It should be a fun season!
    • I would not put too much stock into the UH over Eagleville. From what I understand they were pretty banged up in that tourney. Catcher was out, they were throwing pretty deep in their bullpen and a few key players were beat up in their infield. Sounds like they are pretty healthy heading into the district tournament. Look at their schedule, they played some really good teams.
