Do the Devils have a chance? I think they can control tempo and control the clock offensively. I know nothing about Hardin County except they’re 10-0. I do know they rallied to beat Lexington tonight. Any info on Hardin is appreciated. I’m not looking forward to the 3 hour drive! However, WH is blessed to still be playing. They’ve played a tough schedule so hopefully it’ll pay off!

Looking forward to the matchup with you guys. We clawed to win tonight. Wasn’t our best game for sure. When it comes to Hardin County and Lexington you can throw records out the window. Huge rivalry game and Lexington always seems to save their best game of the year for us. Had to go 80 yds with 1:09 on the clock with no timeouts to get the Win. Gonna watch some of y’all’s games this weekend to see how we matchup. It’s win or go home time.

I gotcha, I didn’t realize that game tonight was a rivalry game. WH is pretty healthy. Solid defense up front, secondary is shaky at times. Offensively, we have some good backs and a playmaker WR if we can get him the football.
I don’t know if we have the overall size for a knockdown four quarter game. The temps will be cold so both teams will have to adjust.
Any good places to eat close to the stadium?

Fish hut is my favorite. It’s good! Not looking forward to the cold weather at all.

I thought both teams were clutch on offense tonight. Hardin County basically had two "last ditch" drives to win, and Lexington had one sandwiched in between. Lexington abandoned their passing game for the wildcat offense about the third game in, but it sure looked like maybe their record would be better if they'd stuck with it and allowed #2 to get comfortable throwing the ball...looked awful good on their last drive. Hardin Co. just showed what they're capable of when they pull out the stops and let their offense rip. My only critique would be that the QB "locks in" on his #1 option too quickly...missed some open kids with time to check down, but got nervous. On the plus side, he hit kids in stride and that made lots of difference than if they had to adjust to get to errant passes. Both teams looked good...HC should be fine for at least two rounds...Lexington gets the booby prize of a trip to P.C. At least they have the opportunity to return the favor for the Firebirds knocking them out of the playoffs at home last year :???:.

All very true statements. All I’ll say and then move on to the next one is typical HC and Lexington game! Also our best linebacker was out for this game. But our D held them to 3 points on two trips inside the 5. Game changer for sure!

congratulations on the rivalry win and good luck in the playoffs

BDP do what yall do. If y'all come out and play hard like y'all did vs upperman then it’s gone ruffle some feathers. Yall have seen everything that HC does with the teams you played against. Represent
the district and get that W. Don’t let the good luck charm of Hardin county get you lol. There are some good folks.

    • Deja vu all over again, 7 yrs apart. SMDH Does anybody talk to each other?
    • OK, well, that’s because two quarterbacks can’t start. That’s football 101. The main quarterback won the starting job, so he was on varsity, and the Seymour transfer did not win the starting job. He played some varsity. He was mainly junior varsity, and he balled out when healthy, so for the starting quarterback who’s been starting varsity since his freshman year, if you have any form of proof that he’s gotten worse, somehow, whether that means stats or whatnot, please feel free to share.
    • They’ve both gotten worse. I’ve seen enough games to know that.
    • The only two transfers that Bearden has gotten that went on to play college football were a defensive back from Karnes, who transferred here way before the new coaching staff got here, and a running back from Carter, who went on to play at Maryville College. Both players received those offers while at Bearden, and both players got a diploma from Bearden High School. Therefore, they are Bearden kids, and you can’t do anything about that.   The transfer from Seymour didn’t win the job, what do you expect two quarterbacks to start at the same time? He played great on JV when he could stay healthy, and when he came in on varsity, he did great. The quarterback position is definitely going to be in good hands when the current starting quarterback leaves, but until then, they’re just going to be battling it out like every good quarterback competition does. The current starting quarterback has his flaws, and that is in the pass game, but what he doesn’t have flaws is running and scrambling, and if you go back and watch any game, which I’m sure you didn’t watch any, we used him very often, and when we needed a deep ball, we brought in the transfer from Seymour. The starting quarterback last year will be a senior this year, and the Seymour transfer will be a junior, so the Seymour transfer is definitely going to get his spotlight. He may even win the job this year. Football isn’t about who the newspaper thinks is the best kid. The best kid in the position will win the starting job, and I trust the coaching staff more than a newspaper or article to pick my starting QB.
    • I mean, we’ve only gotten two transfers that went on to play college football, one who went to UT Martin came his second semester junior year before the new coaching staff was here, and the other one went on to play at Maryville College, in which I don’t believe he had any interest prior to transferring.
