Schools choose to be a part of the TSSAA. They can choose not to be a member, and not play in the TSSAA playoffs, and broadcast however they choose.

What about the minors that play on the team? Don’t feel it would hold up in court to try to stop a parent from streaming their kids game so grandma can see it! LOL

Technically the regulations cover any “school or media entity” so they could theoretically take action against anybody. Not sure what TSSAA would do in the smaller divisions, but I could see them making a bigger deal out of it the larger classes or Division 2.

There’s a representative out of Giles/Lawrence County who has tried to bring legislation to this. The most preposterous part to me is the $250 fee for a 24-hour tape delay broadcast. All the fees paid by us go to the gate for distribution. I wonder if the same is done for NFHS broadcasts.

Not picking a side, just telling you. It would hold up in court. It’s called a contract. Grandma could stream it on NFHS.

I will also add that this is exactly why we, and a I’m sure all of the others, do it. Not a dime of sponsorship money goes in our pockets, though sometimes I wish it would. It all goes back into the student athletes and teams.

We have countless players’ and coaches’ parents, grandparent, siblings, extended families, alums and more watch every week from across the country. It’s all about giving a stage and platform for the players and schools.

That’s a slippery slope…..

Not really. Each member school pays a fee to "join" the TSSAA...along with that comes the small print portion of the "agreement", that contains the abide by the rules, bylaws, blah, blah, blah...you get the point.

EDIT

I was simply catching up and posted...didn't see this last page until I hit submit. Exactly right though about choosing to be a member.

That’s what I meant by that comment. You choose to be part of their organization, and doing so you agree to their rules. Not going to win an argument going against something you agreed too to begin with.

Unless something drastic changes, looks like the weather will be a big factor in this one. Hurts our passing attack but figure it will also neutralize some of ER’s speed advantage. Points will come at a premium

How is SC’s run game? Only game I’ve saw then play was the first meeting against ER, so not really a good sample size to gage.
