Middle Tenn Hoops

Hoping to see some good action return to the middle tennessee area in girls hoops.  Caught up to some Murfreesboro action last night, what has happened to Oakland?  Was not just a few years ago they had won a district title and last night they did not look like they would finish in the top half of their district this season.
Did anyone else impress last night in the middle tennessee area?  Heard Coffee County looked very good and Shelbyville seems to be improved from the previous years.

Coffee co is very good and white co looked like the real deal last night!

Is White County still in the same district or did the move up to AAAA?  The Upper Cumberland area never disappoints when it comes to girls basketball.  Will Coffee County be able to make the leap out of region play and is Lincoln County still loaded?  Tullahoma was not impressive at Oakland but the Lady Patriots were very very bad.

I think this is the year coffee co gets it done! Also white co plays in arguably the toughest district in the state with upperman, Livingston, stone and cumberland. 3A

Coffee very young.  No Seniors on the team.  Will get better as the season progresses.  Tough front end of schedule much easier after Christmas.  Also now paired with the Williamson County Region rather than Cleveland/Bradley area.   Next few years should make some postseason noise.

Coffee has a pretty good schedule with some easy wins like Shelbyville and Tullahoma mixed in with Blackman and Bradley games.  They should be an entertaining team for the next couple of years if the coach can stay out is the way of the talent.  I like Lincoln County and what they have done the last few years and have a very good coach.

very impressed with Lincoln County and Coffee County yesterday.  Lincoln was playing without a starter and still looked very deep as a team and can shoot the ball and defend at a high level.  Coffee County is going to win a lot of games this season with different girls being the leading scorer, they can beat you so many ways.

Blackman and Tullahoma were very unimpressive.  I do know it is early and some girls might be out injured but Tullahoma has problems finishing and they have no understanding of clock and situation.  Blackman just looks very young and not the same as the past few years.

    • They should be pretty good in year two for Rang.  Replacing most of the offensive production losing Dozier, Hayward and Rembert , but they're are skill kids in place ready for their shot.  I know I say this every year, but the o line should show improvement after two years in Rang and Kevin Day's weight program.  I still would favor West over Plow and OR come November.  The Rebs will have to grow up a bunch between now and then, and will probably take some lumps along the way with that schedule.  But I predict come playoff time they will be ready.   One of their coaches half joked to me that they could go 5-5 regular season and win the state championship.  Ha ha.
    • there will be a couple of teams, that could make some noise
    • Dyersburg may win back to back to back championships. They are going to be hands down the best 3A team. Plus their District/region/sectionals are not very good. They basically just have to make it to region out of a 5 team district that has a few decent teams. South Gibson will be okay but they graduate their best player and there is nobody in the region 7 or region 8 who is going to compete with them.
    • I remember very well watching things change in the late 80's and yes it's all schools. Most people that are in charge today have any idea because they were raised and taught under this social experiment so they don't have a clue. Anyone that does see the truth for what it is usually try and hide it by blending in so that the School Gestapo doesn't round them up and take them to the Fuhrer ( kindly putting it ). Yes it is all schools not just Maryville. This train ride is not headed in a good direction and if the public had seen a movie of what's happening now back in 1980 everyone would have been headed home afterwards to change underware.
    • Hoping to make the playoffs.
