ER won by 3 possessions last year and had over 100+ yards in penalties…and still won by 3 possession @ Marion but after watching some of these transfers highlights…the RB coming in didn’t start at his last school and the DL is just a size guy. He’s big and strong but that is about it. ER still is the favorite in my opinion

Old Pirate totally agrees! But them jailhouse high kinfolkes knowds this is last real chance fer a long spell. Figure all the eggs is in this group.

Went back and looked at the stats for Marion vs ER.
Sam Pickett- 7 Carries 10 Yards/1 Reception for 8 yards

Tilton Pickett- 8/22 68 yards 1 TD 1 INT and -15 Rushing Yards

Marion Co- 125 total yards of offense

———————-

Isaiah Groves- 28 Carries 283 Yards 3TDs

Kason Young-1/5 47 Yards

East Robertson- 370 Total Yards of offense

Isaiah was a one man wrecking crew that night. He could have rushed for more than he did if it wasn't for a few penalties. Absolutely one of the best RB I have seen in person. That 1 pass that Young completed was a back breaker in my opinion. A 50/50 ball that the Indians came down with, with the score 14-7 and it led to a FG. A lot of our kids dropped their heads being down 2 scores late. ER was just too good that night to be down 2 scores in the 3rd. Hopefully there is a rematch because that means the Warriors made it that far. I would expect a better game from them if they do play again.

The 2 kids that moved here will be a big help I believe. The older one was All State in a 4A classification in GA. If you watch any GA high school football you'll quickly see it's a whole different animal than TN. I've seen 1A and 2A teams in GA that would boatrace some of the better upper classifications in TN. The younger one was a victim of being an underclassman at a large school.

We’ll see, rooting for y’all.

Actually that young kid was in an offense that loved to throw the ball I believe.

Biggest problem for MC is if the coaching staff can figure out which mouths to feed at the appropriate time.

You may be right about the young one. I didn't see many highlights on him so I figured he had to wait for his time.

I did see on a Facebook page that they're using GPS tracking monitors on kids in practice. I believe they have 6 that are over 20mph and 10 more that are in the 18-20 mph range. Those 10 will probably get over 20 this summer.  What's hard to believe is that Pickett isn't the fastest kid on the team.

The Webb School boys had Phet Phothong score a 69 while Carter  Burks shot 70 following up his 72 in Johnson City on Monday. The girls had Solia Mechling of Rockvale lead the way with a 73 in taking the title as they improved their score by 30 shots over Monday in East Tennessee as they found the homestead Indian Hills to their liking.  Rockvale and Central Magnet will head to the Battle of Hermitage on Wednesday July 31st. On Tuesday Stewarts Creek and Smyrna will do battle at Smyrna Golf Course  with an early tee time of 11 AM. The next day Oakland, Webb and Nolensville will tee off at Champions Run beginning at 9 AM.
