Region/Sectional Duals

I know in the East half of the state,  everything is still being scrambled due to weather.

If schools are closed,  they can't host or even practice.  During days leading up to an event,  if inclimate weather prevents practice,  I think kids also get a 1lb allowance,  up to 2lbs. If they get to practice the day before,  I don't think they do.

That may play a role if kids are close on weight or even want to drop,  just for district/ regions. I bet you see districts take place and regions the day after.

Regional must be completed by 26th January and sectionals by 27th January.

Roads are still really bad in many places here in Knox County.  I don't expect them to be in school on Monday. Parts of Sevier County and East Tennessee missed the big snow earlier this week but got freezing rain and a couple inches snow last night so who knows what will happen.

Idk about all that but i saw more than one Cleveland coach posting on their social media's that they were still practicing

I think it depends on county, Hamilton won't allow you to so the kids I know have been out running on their own and working out on their own, this weather just absolutely sucks

It's county by county, depending on your school board policies.  Some kids are going to show up in better shape than others.

I hope kids are finding a way to make the most of these days. It's times like this that separate the champs from the rest of the pack. When everything is closed and your coach isn't telling you to be anywhere, do you get a workout in regardless? I get excited about these opportunities because it's a chance to gap the rest of the crowd.

I agree.  I know several kids who are still snowed in right now and are just doing whatever they can at home.

I also know several kids who have access to a garage with a 20x20 mat and several partners. It'll be interesting to see how it shapes things.

I wonder if Chattanooga area or Nashville area schools are closed any?

Hamilton county schools were out all week, so no organized practice this week.

    • This whole situation is bonkers. You don’t just kick your star player off the team just because you heard them say the F word; the coach definitely had something against the player, or somebody definitely did. Also, nobody has brought up the idea that the school blackmailed the college to get the college to withdraw the scholarship offer, not to mention that the coach who kicked her off is no longer even with the program; they were fired. I think this is a pretty easy lawsuit. I don’t know if she should deserve that much money, but I think she should get enough money for a full-ride scholarship if she cannot get one after this situation.
    • Oh yeah, I’m sure you are different people just always on the same thread for some reason, always agreeing with each other, perhaps just a bunch of dorks who would like to ###### and moan about high school football coaches do a lot of other students, so you make a football team and get a yell at them. When they do something wrong, but I’m sure you don’t like that, do you?   and I’m sure I’m aware of where you get information. A teacher who was on the coaching staff but was fired after the new coaching and staff came in and realized he actually had to start taking his assistant job a little bit more seriously than just wanting to make a little extra cash on the side, hardly even showing up to most practices, should’ve left with his buddy to go to Farragut. I’m sure he could get him a defensive coaching job, but I doubt he will be there in three years. Looking at the way Farragut is currently going.
    • It may be hard to believe but there’s more people than me that think you guys are a bunch of losers.    I’m sure the coaching staff, yourself included, cursed at a bunch of high school students. Nobody could name more than 3 coaches on staff due to the constant turnover.
    • That's complete BS.  Nobody at ACHS has access to CHS student records unless a transfer is made from CHS to ACHS.
    • Trez's last scandal has died down, so I guess this is there opportunity to be the best 4A team playing in 2A a la Sissy MTN.  At least they won't be in a Z-district with 1a teams in the regular season.
