Carson Quillen is one of the best athletes in the state and is part of their running game. I would have to say you are correct.

Greeneville had the better athletes and could cover them. (Two Safeties we have are 6'3 and 6'4). On SH's first 2 possessions  they had 2 three and outs and a total of 4 yards.  Sophomore Taren Claridy put on a show (https://www.hudl.com/video/3/18531499/66b6bcf4f457df055d8b9cc9) and will be a player to look out for this year.  His dad (Aaron Claridy) was an all time great RB at Tusculum and in the Athletic Hall of Fame there

Word on the street is Greeneville is really good, Science Hill isn't as good as advertised, and the D1 prospect got absolutely shut down by Greeneville's Defense.

4A is the king of upper east TN.  Science Hill and DB need to find a way to get ride of 1200 kids a piece so they can actually compete in 5A.  There, I said it.

I mean it's true.  6A is a dead end.  They can have an amazing season but as soon as they play region 2 teams, done it is over.  If I were a betting man I'd say the amount of kids from DB and SH that transferred to an Orange or Green team in the past 6 years is probably more than 1.

 

Make two schools in JC and Kingsport, that'll fix that there football program in both schools.  Enjoy.

If 6A West Ridge (1809) were to drop 261 students then they could play in 5A.     Not sure they could get past Region 2 in 5A either, but whatcha think?

      No worries. I was just trying to make it clear for those who might not know who are actual Marion County posters. There are only a few of us and stay to ourselves for the most part. I've been doing a lot of traveling for work and this will be the  first game of the season I'm able to make it to. Thanks to whoever started the thread.    I would be shocked if this one is a blowout. Like coy said, the rain will be a definite disadvantage for the Warriors.

      So simple to fix my friends. Hire Coach Ryan back. Offer him a fulltime teaching position, a coaching stipend the exact same as the current highest paid coach in Blount Co and a budget to hire his own assistants. Within two seasons GB will be once again competing for state titles. For those that weren't around Coach Ryan coached a State Champion and a State Runner Up in football and a State Champion in Baseball  in the last two years he coached there, Who were the members of The GB Brain Trust that let him get away?
