Tullahoma @ Franklin Co

The Rebels have produced only 6 points in 3 contests. Is there any possibility of an upset of Tullahoma at home?

Not the same Rebel team , that came into Tullahoma last year and got the victory, lost a lot of players. I look for Franklin County to play a lot better, but I think  Tullahoma's offense is much better than last year, and the defense , which has been suspect at times, is improving week to week.

Both teams are worse than last year's versions. If Tullahoma loses, heads should roll.

You have to admit that Tullahoma is inconsistent. They could easily be 2-1 but on the other hand are fortunate to not be 0-3. Meanwhile Franklin Co is just plain awful. Both teams have digressed from last year. No excuses for Tullahoma to drop this contest.

Your right, The inconsistency is because they have all new offensive line, and the defense lost a lot players from last year. The offense is better than last year. Mason Bratcher, last year QB, decided to play baseball only. Jr. Lucas Reed, is much better QB has a  good arm ,and can run as well .All the teams Tullahoma has faced so far are good teams, and all three are good enough to make the playoffs. Coffee County is much improved, there only problem there in the Rutherford Co. schools region. It would be no surprise to me , to see them make the playoffs. Coffee County should have beat Shelbyville.

Tullahoma is shaky on run D. If they can improve there, they can compete for the region title. If not, they probably finish 3rd and maybe 4th.

I'm not sure that the offense is that much better but with the region so weak, there's really no excuse for Tullahoma to not win it. I agree that their first 3 opponents are by far their toughest competition. I think Lincoln Co could cause an issue if the starting QB comes back in time and then it should be smooth sailing until Shelbyville in the finale. It's region title or bust.

I agree the run D is going to continue to be an issue moving forward. I'm curious tho of which three teams in the region that you think will finish ahead of them possibly?

Shelbyville has a great rush attack, so unless the Cats fix the run D, that’s a loss. I believe Columbia could be a problem as well. Those should be the only true contests. Lincoln Co. is the only other team that may trip them up but I doubt it. As things are now, I’d say Tullahoma is 3rd behind Shelbyville and Columbia.

    • Jada Hart, Jasmine Bailey and Kaitlyn Patterson the first two being PG's are all good guards and can handle ball pressure and are good players. Raven Wells will be a good post. There were games this summer where any one of the one's I mentioned were in double figures. Gibson County will control TO's much better this year and they will press more and get back to playing faster. AA is down across the board. I have been all over watching ball. Alcoa jumped to AAA and Jackson County moved down. to A. No telling who wins it this year. I agree Union City, Westview and Gibson County will be a dogfight and must see basketball. Poster insuated that Gibson County has a mental block against Westview. Well give me Maddie Gray and we line up last year and they wouldn't have won a game. Let's see how Westview does this year. Their starting five last year had three transfers in it. Rogers from Obion, Trevathon from Greenfield and Gray from South Fulton. Looks like they swung and missed with the girl from Florida this year so let's see how they do playing with kids from Westview. Gibson County has a really good 7th grade class this year.I have done learned you play with what you got and work them hard and develop them and see what happens. Just keep battling and see what happens. I like our team this year. Very athletic. Every year is the same with injuries and can be catistrophic to any. I watched GC all summer long. South Side and GC was very evenly matched and was a classic war. Hope all stays healthy.
    • I think Gibson County is a top five team this next season but I do agree they will drop off a lot after this year.  Westview lost a ton and will be down this season and hopes of returning to glass house again is slim.  The run they have had is super impressive!
    • My take on GC for this year: Based on what I saw last year and heard this summer, I’m not sure GC could surprise me next year with any outcome. Wilkins is a great coach - they could win the district and region and go to Murfreesboro. They could also come in third in the district and not get out of region. The two returning starters are very talented but Guru is right that they didn’t always play hard last year. The other three starters are good enough in their roles for GC to be successful. There is no depth. Foul trouble could be a problem - Wilkins may avoid it by playing a lot of zone. An injury would be catastrophic. I hope they have a big year and Wilkins rides off into the sunset in Murfreesboro because, without some significant transfers, there are some tough years coming in the next few.
    • Daniel Boone coming down to 3A makes this much tougher. They added a couple transfers to the Flores girl. Cocke Co, Northview, Greeneville, and Daniel Boone - only two headed to Murfreesboro.
