As do others getting a chuckle out of a team coasting each year. I guess after you win 10 in a row or more I would look to get a challenge somewhere. Just a difference in mentality i guess. And your wrong about some people….if my team was fortunate to win that many state titles I would definitely want my team to challenge themselves to do something different. Again…just different mentalities

Alcoa plays a non-region of schedule of Ravenwood, Bearden, West, Greeneville and Maryville. They challenge themselves plenty. Show me another 3A team that plays a schedule like that

If you want to hate on something, hate the system that has created this situation. Less successful schools wanted a chance to win a title and the TSSAA obliged, going from 3 to 5, then 7, 8 and now 9 classes. Alcoa is just the byproduct of everyone wanting a trophy, so either get better or keep watching Alcoa win titles year after year.

There's nothing about the way Alcoa runs it's program that suggests anything about coasting. Those kids are just as excited about winning it for the third or fourth time as they were about their first time

I don’t understand the argument about everyone wanting a trophy and there being to many classifications. Every state I know of has at least 6 classifications and some have as many as 8. So to me that seems to be the norm. Matter of fact most of the states where I know people involved in high school sports whatever classification you are in one sport you are in all sports. So baseball football basketball and all other major sports are all in the same classifications. TSSAA seems to be the exception to me with fewer classifications in other sports than football.

No where on here did I say anything about how Alcoa ran their program.
I would just want to win a title at another level to add that to the trophy case. To your point of “either get better”…..kinda hard to just get better for many teams in the state. Not all teams have the fortune to live in a large county with multiple good athletes to choose from. Before this gets taken the wrong way…..not saying anything wrong with having multiple athletes to choose from……I know that’s not Alcoa’s fault.

I need Pearl and East in the same region/class again, I miss their rivalry games and we missed out on a perfectly good Out Nawf v. Out East game in 2022. East Nashville was at their best team that year and Pearl Cohn was loaded and both made it to state

Yea that ain’t happening no time soon.

For the people who keep saying PC is scared of Alcoa….LISTEN we are not scared of Alcoa! We’ve played them and lost it happens. We’re not scared to play anybody. Heck if they wanted to play a regular season game I’m pretty sure our head coach would accept it with open arms unless it messes with us playing MBA. Speak for your own programs. East Nashville and PC will not play in the same region even if we was in 3a again. If you’re not familiar with the Metro schools a few years ago, we had a representative in each class besides 1a.

How do they determine which region they play in? Do they get to make that call?

As much yapping as you do, it’s easy to find out. It’s the same reason why we’re not in the same region in basketball and I’ll leave it at that.

First place I look to find out information on high school sports in Tn is a Tn High School sports message board. So if you don't have the answer, I'll ask again.  What possible reason would TSSAA have for NOT putting to 2A schools that are 7.4 miles apart in the same region? When the next closest 2A teams are 45 miles away.

Facts, PC schedules a LOT of comp, off-season and early season, which is why they have been designed to go on great playoff runs
