Thats what I came here to say! Thomas was a talent. But the injury kept him from being in the running especially when Groves lit it up the way he did the entire season.

They both 20 something carries for 120+ yards. Thomas scored 2TDs Groves scored 1. Thomas also had a much better OL than groves. Theirs a reason one’s playing LB at a D2 school and ones commited to Georgia Tech.

Height for a RB is not a big deal when it comes to recruitment, him running a 4.4 is the difference.

Congratulations to all the finalists but I watched Sam Pickett at Marion tonight touch the ball 11 times and had 253 yds. 1 rushing TD, 2 receiving TDs and a kickoff returned 78 yds on the opening kick for a TD. All these young men deserve to be recognized for outstanding seasons but Sam I feel like is one of the best. He doesn't have the guady numbers because he only gets 7 to 10 touches a game.

Pickett was the best player in 2A and it wasn’t even close. Just my opinion on it. He got the trophy that matters though.

I agree. After watching each player on film. That Pickett kid is smooth. The Peete kid is a solid hard runner but the Pickett kid can move, shift and catch the ball.
